    aimsurplus.com, palmettostatearmory.com, ammunitiontogo.com, sgammo.com are all good to go.

luckygunner.com is my favorite for decent paper puncher for my handguns.

    ammoman.com for my rifles (AK/AR)
"We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls."

AmmoMan or the auction site 'GunBroker'.
    Lots of good prices there.

Hey you with the ugly face, afgsupra, they have 3 pages of .303.......
You know, I have targets with that picture on them.

palmettostatearmory.com is about one of the only places with .223 or 5.56 in stock with reasonable prices. i don't like purchasing from cheaperthandirt on principle, so that really only leaves midway, natchez, or ammoman.

Cheaperthandirt has a history of price gouging on ammo.

..Not really. Some of the other sites are even running free shipping right now, too. Most vendors won't even ship ammunition into LA city limits.

I buy umc at dicks when it is on sale. I normally stock up on paper punchers, but have a few boxes of hornady as well for carry. If shtf I figure no one will care about jhp vs fmj.

Hmmm.. I compared the same brands of ammo and saved about $3-5/box overall with shipping included (9mm, .45, .30-06). Also, shipping to the city of Los Angeles is prohibited; other cities in Los Angeles County is fine.

PMC is back down a bit at Palmetto State Armory... $6.49 a box. Not exactly cheap, but better than a lot of other places.

SGAmmo can't seem to keep the cheap stuff in stock. Even their "premium" ammo is flying out the door.

hey... so i just shot up all my .223. i figured i could just pick up some more at walmart while grocery shopping... turns out theres zero on-hand, zero in transit, zero in the warehouse, zero on order. sure, theres plenty of expensive stuff. i just want to pick up some paper-punching brass. but no one seems to have any online either.

ive got like 24 boxes of Tul-ammo junk that my rifle doesnt like... so unless i can open my chamber up to a mil-spec, i cant do shit with it.

if anyones got a link to some .223 non-steel core/case for cheap, lmk.

My local Walmarts have AE223 in stock.

    Federal XM193 is $319+tax for a case of 1,000 at Vance's.

Local Walmart for some reason doesn't ever get bulk packs of .223...I got lucky and was there and was able to purchase 2 boxes of the Federal 100rd packs that got shipped to them by mistake. I think they were like $39/box...not the best deal, but it was ok for around here. Usually they just get one of those 420 rd ammo cans of M855 in for $159 every other week or so. I bought one awhile back when I hadn't seen .223 just because I was about to go out and shoot a lot and wanted a smaller can. Overpriced compared to purchasing online, but fairly good for stores. They also have a bunch of the Tula .223 for $6/box, but after shooting a few magazines it makes my chamber so dirty it'll get a case stuck. Only way I can shoot it is if I alternate with mags of Federal or something. Too much hassle for me so I just quit buying it. They've started getting a crap ton of the WWB 9mm for $20 and I usually get one or two when I'm there; I think the .45 is about $36.

I think I've got enough ammo for my immediate future...all other purchases are going to start being bulk purchases online though. Anyone have a good site for defensive ammo? Stores here want to charge like $25/20rd box on 9mm Speer Gold Dots and I remember seeing a website that had the 50rd boxes for not too much more.

Someone on another forum had recommended me to the IMI on Widener's site...$384/1200
