nice... good to see you put it to use it was there for the longest time.
Well the season has started here in the Pacific Northwest, first race was this weekend. The car ran very well, qualified 2nd in the first race but spun on cold tires and watched the whole field pass me before I could get back on.. So got on with it and passed 28 cars to finish 4th. The second race started 20th ( ran out of fuel in quali, dumb ass)and finished 4th again out of 32 cars

I have some gopro footage that I have to look at and post as well,my battery wasn't lasting very long so it's short
Great work coming back through the field like that.
Hopefully everything comes together at your next event and you can get on the podium![]()

Sounds like a great season start, Lou. Good luck with the details and I'm sure you'll be on the podium. I'm looking forward to seeing your vids, too.

I wasn't getting brake fade on Saturday's race but Sunday's race holy crap i was. I drove very deep into corners trying to catch 3rd place and had to pump at least 3 or 4 times into each corner by the end of the race. A friend of mine has recirculators on his Wilwoods I'm going to see if i can put a system onto the Rotoras. As far as engine heat I was very happy about the temps,I spent 3 years chassing overheating in the last car with a 2j in it. Hard driving on Sunday saw 210 water 250 oil 5/40 castrol synthetic.

Nice best of luck. I'm leaning towards stripping the interior out of my sc st this point and going that direction now that ill have more time on my hand after I get retired from the military.

Great job. As others have said, you will have no problem getting on the podium as soon as you settle in and reduce the errors.

Hey Nick, yes i'm running ducts that i made at the track on Saturday night,3 inch to the back of the rotor but my fab guy lost the backing plates that I had made so the hose points to the center.
SC-T thanks, good luck with yours. I love Florida, want to move there some day.
Thanks Steve
Good job Lou, your car looks great! Glad everything is working out for you.
Don.
Thanks Don that motor is working out great
Got some more pix from the weekend. The last one is a quick attempt of cooling the brakes

I'm also trying some titanium brake shields from Hard Brakes, They are 1mm thick and go between the pad and the pistons, I'll let you know how they work at the next race on May 13,14.
I bought some 0.5mm titanium shields from hardbrakes, and will attest to them having helped my fluid keep cool(er)
Its a case of lots of small things adding up to keep brake temps under control, rather than one thing in particular being the silver bullet.
So the second race weekend is over and I can report that I won both races of the weekend. The brake cooling mods worked very well, Prospeed RS 683 fluid,HardBrakes 1mm heat shield and rotor backing plates with 3inch hose to the center of the rotor. I also ran the Continental tires I got from Daytona and they were ok, I found them greasy and not as fast as the Yokohama's from last weekends race. Water temps were under control once the themostat was removed,it stayed at 210, but the oil temps were high 260-280 so i have to work on that. Fuel consumption wasn't to bad I used 15 gallons of C12 over the weekend,2 practice,2 quali and 2 races.
Lou, I never road raced but I used twin oil coolers both with fans on my 20B build when I had the oil hot enough to deep fry. They brought the oil temps down to 170-180. Mopac has them, a little pricey but well worth the money.
Cheers!
