    Shit just got real

    Sup guys,

I promised myself that once im dont with my gt35r 2j build that it would be my final one. Well my goals have changed quite a bit and will be shooting for more power, and a cleaner engine bay.

    Enough talk and onto pics.

Before i started this build the is how the car looked.

And onto the work, finally got her in the garage and getting ready for surgery.

    Recieved some goodies

    Greddy T78

Aem and modified intake with Q45 t-body

    On to work.

Removed ABS (I know its not advised but ive done this to my past 7 supras and never an issue)

    Cleaned up and tucked wiring

    Modified my Cooling pipe

Test fitting the new intake and working a new position for the fuse box

Parts that will be on by next week.

    Oil cooler/relocation
    Top feed fuel rail
    1200cc Injectors

Exhause manifold will be getting modified for a v-band style wastegate.

Stay tuned , there is too much more coming

Is this the TH400 car? If so, any plan for a cage, I can see this car going into the high 9s.

    I'm on board! Looks good.
I'm not even going to ask why the dinosaur turbo I'm really interested to see how it spools on your motor. You planning to run e85 with those giant injectors?

The only scenario I can come up with is that he got it before the changeover in 06 and hasn't been messed with because cops don't know what year a MKIII is and probably figure it's 26+ with a 'historic' plate.

Great work. Can't wait to see this thing around town. PM me if you ever need an extra hand as well.

Haters can hate all they want - but I fucking *LOVE* T78's and T88's!

The only other turbos I've ever seen take the abuse a T78 or T88 can are OG HKS T04R's.

Cool swap, cool car. Keep us posted!

I was also considering one of those. But I had heard horror stories of them failing. But I doubt you'd be able to find much info to that aspect since sp sponsors the forum. IMO, 4500rpm for 14psi isn't terrible for a big turbo. What size is the hotside on your 78? 17cm?

Like the intake manifold, do you know who made it ?

+1 on liking the big GReddys.
    I have a 22cm housing on my T88-34D.
I may send it off, and have it converted to ball bearing.
Seen one posted for sale that had that done to it.

A 22cm housing ought to flow really well. It's gonna need all the help it can get to spool. Mine is "laggy" but the exhaust wheel is going to choke it out in the top end. So I won't be able to hit 1000hp with my turbo just because it's improperly matched. So I don't mind limited power so long as its decent for what it is.

    Thanks for the compliments guys!

The intake is actually awesome, i love the tig welding done to it. This is one of those greddy knock off bolt on intakes that go for 300$ . but this one is actually welded to the stock lower runner , port/polished.

Bought this gem from hampton (blacksnail)

The T78 has a 1.15 hot side twin scroll, I know its huge but spooled up quite nicely on my buddy brandons (enslaved87) 1J laying down 640 to the wheel on e85 maxing out his 850cc inj. nice torque curve and turbo had lots more room.

Cams are on the list and also replacing tons of parts on the car.

    new calipers
    bushings all around
    tie rods
    reshim diff
    all braided brake lines
    etc

You guys will see the progress in this thread
