Exerpt from a press release from Fontana drag strip:

A Superior Court has suspended operation of the Auto Club Dragway. The suspension results from a successful challenge of a San Bernardino County sound standard by a group of concerned residents. San Bernardino County officials had approved an amendment to the County Sound Standard in 2010 to accommodate louder sound arising from races at the Dragway. The Superior Court found that the underlying Environmental Impact Report which the County relied on to approve the sound standard amendment was not sufficient.

We are currently reviewing the court ruling and evaluating our options moving forward. We hope to have more detailed information about our future operations at the Dragway soon.

Damn Patrick, I have no idea California spdy is semiclosed. Did government/mafia trying to get more $$$ out of this tracks or something? I feel like they're torture our tracks! I think someone should save both tracks, hurry people!! Now, I know why tracks charges above average price. Economy these days are like disease, and government are virus.

Autoclub Speedway/California Speedway has been at odds with Residents moving closer to the track for years. I doubt San Bernadino wants to close down the track, too much revenue on the table to give up.

The funny thing about the residents, they should of been "WARN" by realtors. Also, there's heavy trains running around day and night. There's even stadiums(lakers, dodgers, clippers and etc..) have residents all over those areas, why can they complaints there lol! Damn those residents. We, car enthusiasm, deserve living there by the speedway.

That's what I always thought was interesting, Truc. Here these people are complaining about noise generated from the drag strip, and they live right next to a railroad track! I live about a mile from a railroad track and you can definitely hear them come and go. There's this one Mexican restaurant that sits literally like 30 feet from the track out in the middle of Indio somewhere and if you're in the restaraunt when the train passes, you have to grab on to your table or it'll flip over haha.

U still have qualcomm 1/8th mile for now. LOL.!!! So what 1/4mile drag strip is still open in socal. I have been wanting to take my supra to the track and see what it can do... if there are no drag strips , i might just have to go to a road course, but thats something i have no experience on.

There are no 1/4 mile tracks open to the public at the current time, unless you want to head up to Central California.

That is absolutely pitiful. This is southern California and there are no legal dragstrips for people to pay to use? It makes zero sense for cities to allow this to happen.

Pomona is private use. Autoclub will probably open again when residents stop suing them every year.
