That's only "enforced" when you do forums sales etc... But the seller pays the fees.

    --------------

On a similar note, I'm going through a 'charge back' on my Amazon account too. I sold a phone to someone, he made false claims on its condition. I accepted a refund after basically being forced to by Amazon, so I did. He never shipped it back (no tracking number, I never received it, etc...), so Amazon eventually closed the case in my favor after about 6 weeks. Now 4 months later, Amazon is sending me an email saying they are reopening the case cause buyer claimed a charge back on his CC. Wtf is there to open? If he shipped it, where's the tracking number and proof? End point is, if I don't get my product back how am I to refund him? So he wants the item and his money back. Granted this is only a small $200 sale.

I think its BS that Paypal and Ebay are a paired company. Yet when you sell something on ebay you gotta pay a ebay fee, ebay listing fee and then ontop of all that paypal charges you their fee. Being a paired company it'd make more sense to have just one flat fee.

Thats part of the reason they said I was "high risk" because I have virtually no ebay transactions. Ebay is another story.. oh well cant use it...no knock off parts for me..lol

They have done this to thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people .

    Read : www.paypalsucks.com www.paypalwarning.com

    ALTERNATIVE :

I have been using Google Checkout and have received thousands of dollars as payments with no problem at all. You can receive credit card payments just like paypal.

OP -> been there. Only way you can get your money earlier than 6 months as stated on their agreement page is you settle every account with problem linked to yours. Any paypal account opened through your IP address will or would have been linked to yours. If there are none , then it is just that Paypal avoids users who are high risks. Like if you are selling items in which you cannot show to them invoices or receipts where you buy stuff you sell. Or can't show to them informations of your vendors (company where you buy the items you sell). Honestly , to me , they suck. Just read all the complaints on the link I have mentioned above and you will read a lot of people's misery with paypal. I had thousands of ebay positive feedbacks but I was still a high risk to them because I dealt with electronic items .

Post up the info for the coilover guy..
At least tell us what city state the fucker lives in.......
Most likely some one here lives close to them (could help prevent us from getting ripped off)

And someone who is close could maybe pay them a friendly visit.
Seriously if the guy lives in philly he will regret the day he was born.. It would be my pleasure to help......

I use Intuit, it's cool - kind confusing sometimes.
It is free and it has a flat fee of $5.

This was pretty much the case. I mailed them a bunch of papers in Kanji/hiragana/katakana (japanese writing) so I'm sure they were like wtf. I dont sell on ebay either. So they classified me as Non Ebay. I have no problems on any of my accounts. I am "high risk"............................

Meanwhile every tom, dick, and charlie chan are violating patent and copyright infringements on ebay selling stuff from pirated media to knock off blow off valves..

Trying to not get bitter about the situation is hard, but Im not too worried.

i've had good luck and i still hate paypal just knowing what they do. The main reason I stick with them is because they have an easy transaction history/report. Google is a pain in the ass for that if you run a business.

I use paypal daily for my business. I haven't had any issues with them.

I'll be getting their wireless card reader when it comes out because the rates are much less than the merchants out here (2.7%), and there is no monthly fee or setup cost. We take out the money pretty much immediately from the account, and all our transactions are heavily documented with physical swipes and signatures. Paypal has problems with sales such as forum marketplace sales and ebay sales, because it's hard to determine who is actually in the wrong. When you have an established business model and you provide a service, rather than a tangible product, it makes much more sense.

Life makes us separate; death makes us equal.

Time is the most valuable thing we will ever have. We can't get any more of it and we don't know how much of it we have left.

The Earth has been here for billions of years before the arrival of mankind, and will still be here billions of years after their departure. We are but a heartbeat, a fleeting thought in her dreamy slumber.

I realize this is NO way as severe as these cases listed here, but I was screwed out of ~$12 last month, but the principle is what pissed me off. I paid my rent via paypal (costs me $9 "convenience" fee) through my credit card (I have screen captures of it, standard for anytime I spend money). Instead of taking the money out of my credit card like I selected, they withdrew it from my bank account. When I called them to tell them not to do it, and switch it to my credit card, they told me that I selected the bank account option. They told me it was impossible to switch payments and that "their systems are 100% accurate". When I told them I would like to provide proof of what I did, they gave me an email address that kicked my email (that I typed out enough detail to take 10 minutes of my time) back to say they don't receive emails through that email (only send).

    tl:dr Fuck paypal

One of my clients is a woman who works in the office of the Twitter CEO, she tried to sell me on Square - apparently it's a bit better than it was a while back. Paypal's "Here" gateway looks fucking bananas though. Their rates also can't be beat.

True Square has really started to launch off. They're rates are a few tenths of a % higher than paypal, BUT the money automatically goes into your account 24-48 hours after.
No BS transferring and then waiting for 5 days like Paypal.

I think its a little more convenient too. I made a lunch run at the office the other day, and hooked the card swipe up to the phone (goes in the headphone jack) and people who didnt have cash were able to just pay. Pretty cool.

About 5 years back I bought a tiny little keyring from Ebay, and used my Paypal account to pay for it - it was about $3.

Now back then you could get a 'verified' account just by adding a credit card, and indeed I had my Amex card registered against the account. So imagine my surprise when I woke up one morning to find that a transfer of $1,600 had gone out overnight to someone in China.

I called Paypal and got the run-around for a bit until I finally got hold of someone, who said they would have to 'investigate', that 'it would take time' and that I had to fill out a ton of forms and there was no way to guarantee I'd get my money back

Next phone call was to Amex, with whom I have always had excellent customer service. Got immediately through to someone, explained the situation and that I wanted to cancel the transaction. Guy on the end of the phone agreed, immediately cancelled the transaction at his end, and mentioned that Paypal could go whistle if they thought that Amex would be honouring that payment.

This seemed to spur Paypal on, especially when I called them back to tell them to shove their account and that I already had the money back. It all got resolved over a matter of a few weeks, but from now on I only add a card to my paypal account for just long enough to make a payment, and keep no balance in there whatsoever.

Good stories everyone. I was tempted to put this in the review or buyer/seller feedback, but it was I was on the fence if it was viable to topic.
