Kelford will make any grind under the sun, so there's no way we can tell you how they'll run without more information. To be perfectly honest, I've got BC 272 cams in my 1J and they're fantastic bang for the buck. Readily available and not expensive.

Just an example, but the GSC S2 cam lobes were too big for the 1J head (I tried it already), as the intake cam sits about 2mm forward when using 2J cams.

    Different cams, who knows.

The width of the lobes will be the deciding factor, not the grind of the duration.
    VRP74TBB w/ ETT, 880cc, Stinger 4424, A1000, 272's, ACT eXtreme, 1mm OS valve dual spring ferrea everything and ported 1JZ head, 2.5L block. 27+PSI on 93 + meth 50/50, SP QSV. ???rwhp.
    635rwhp on old 2J block.

The 2jz cams have a larger front journal that needs to be machined before it can drop into the head.

That sucks the s2's need to have the head clearanced on the 1jz setup...
IMO, $800 for a set of gsc cams isn't terrible, especially considering the gains vs other cams.

I sent GSC a set of stock 1JZ cams about a year and a half ago so they could offer a 1JZ option. After over a year of promises I gave up and just bought some BC cams.

I dunno. 10.3mm lift on the exhaust, 9.3mm lift on the intake with 1mm OS valves, and I rev it to 9,000.

I never did a stock cams comparison, but 272's help in high RPMs I've heard

S2 cams are insane for what they are. Pretty much the most aggressive cam for the street. The s3 cams are for something like an 80mm+ turbo, the s2 cams are for a 71-80mm turbo. S1 is for a 71mm and under.

IMO, pick your turbo, then pick your cams.

I went with a 74mm for all top end torque, and that's what my setup is for.

My head is completely ported, titanium retainers, bronze guides, Ferrea everything. It's in the sig.
