    1.5JZ not starting

So I recently built a 1.5JZ thats going into an S14.

I just had a custom harness made by chasebays, and wired everything up this week.

Now the engine will crank all day long, but not start.

After going through the engine Ive realized its not getting spark or fuel.
Im looking for any input or ideas on this. Ive been searching and troubleshooting all week so now Im looking to see if anyone can point in a direction for anything I might be missing.

    Some info about the engine:
    1.5jz using a 2jzge block, stock 1j head
Im running an aristo 2j ecu
    I have an AFPR
    Walbro 255 pump

everything else is pretty much in stock form.

As far as wiring the only things I dont have plugged in are the O2 and the IAT sensors because Im waiting on those to arrive.
I am just trying to turn the engine over to make sure it starts right now before I have it finished so there is no intercooler or intake on the engine yet.

As far as diagnosing the problem so far I have established that the ecu and ignitor is getting correct power and ground, the coil packs have been tested to be within spec at 0.8 ohms, and they are receiving 12v of power at the plugs. I tested the ignitor on another 1j so I know its good.

The fuel pump works and I get constant fuel pressure at 43psi.

When I crank the motor over injector 2 give one spray of fuel right away then nothing from any of the injectors.

Im leaning towards the problem being in the ecu or possibly cam sensors?

I cranked the engine with and without the ecu and it did the exact same thing without the ecu.

Does anyone have any ideas about this?

I am assuming your using a stock ecu? Have you used this ecu before? Have you opened up the ecu to inspect for bad caps on the board? Are all your grounds hooked up to good mounting points and tight, is your crank sensor connected and connection good. Thats where I would start.

Its stock 2j aristo ecu. I'm having a friend test it with his car this morning to see if that could be the problem.

I check all my ground and they're good. I spent a lot of time ground the the electrical in the car. The crank sensor is connected, I haven't checked the connection for that so ill do that and see what it comes out to.

Also, I forgot to mention I'm running 440cc aristo injectors.

You know you have to wire your injectors sequential right when you using 2JZ ecu?

Yes. I talked to chasebays about having the injectors wired correctly for the 2j ecu when I ordered the harness. I'm trying to rule out anything that I could have done wrong before I suspect the harness. But I'm beginning to feel less certain about the harness.

Do you have more than one volt meter? If more than one injector is firing on startup with injector 2, it is wired wrong.

I pulled the fuel rail off to physically see what was going on. Only Inj 2 would fire once when it would first crank, then none of the injectors including #2 would do anything.

If there's no reading from the crank sensor, car will not have spark or fuel.

After using a chaser harness myself for my 1.5J swap, I would check the grounds from the crank, cam, MAP, and TPS.

I haven't been hearing anything good about chasebay's harness's they have been putting out, They may of wired the harness incorrectly. If you have a friend with a running 2jz since you are using a 2jz harness try swapping some sensors and narrowing out any other possibilities but it sounds like it could be wiring issue to me.

Ooops. I used a Chaser harness, not this Chase or wahtever it is.

    Check ALL the wires yourself.

My Tweak harness was even messed up. Nobody seems to be able to get it right.

Im thinking its a wiring issue also. Im going to check the crank and cam sensors first. Im hoping it might just be a crank sensor. And Ill also trace and check all the wires myself.

If anyone in southern california is doing a mk3 swap hit me up.

    I make some damn good quality supra & sc300, 2jz & 1jz harnesses but I've never worked on a mk3 before.

Update: I went through the harness and traced the wires for the crank, cam and TPS sensors.
The harness came out fine, Im going to replace the crank and cm sensors next.

I updated the wrong thread, lol.

Check your sensors before you replace them. They may not be bad, and it could be something else.

Hang in there. I had a lot of wiring gremlins, but patience and persistence will pay off.

I checked my cam sensors and all the wires in the harness, they were all good. When I looked at my crank sensor it was looses. I tightened it down and all my injectors started firing. But still no spark. This makes me think my sensors are good.

What would cause my engine to get fuel but not spark?

With the key on, is there power at one pin of each coils' plug?

    Check the crank sensor.

    Have you checked for codes?

Just checked resistance on the crank sensor. it came out to 1,089 ohms. Good resistance says 1,630 to 2,740 so Im gunna take a guess and say that should hopefully be the problem.

And you are sure you looked up the correct sensor? There are two different ones, that read different, IIRC.
