I have thought it was a scam from mid day after looking into it a little.

The car was owned by a dealer recently and priced in the 30s.

Please report back when he replies back with info on the scam or otherwise!

I been keeping a eye on Supras in Chicago and that is the first time I have seen that ad in or around the area.

This is one of those $2,500 MKIV CraigsList scams, only they regurgitated pre-dealer trade photos and slapped a low price on that to farm contact information.

This car must have been for sale a long while ago. There is no EXIF information on the photos, the file names are out of sequence and look to be from a larger set that was not posted, and Google doesn't turn up anything on a reverse image search.

I got a reply back and it's a scam. He stated that it's sold but he's bought and sold more than 70 Supras and he can help me locate another one. Lol

    Good Evening,

Im sorry to inform you the Supra you inquired about has sold. Although, I have bought and sold over 70 Supra's the past 8 years and personally adjusted the market. If you would like me to locate you one, give you pricing or provide information on things to look out for when buying one i would be more than happy to help out.

    Let me know!

In the current market what % of buyers would you say are flippers?

I think the market for Supras is all jacked up because between like 8 people, they are hoarding probably close to 60-70 Supras in their own collection. Isn't there a guy on here that has close to 40 himself?

No way! Add a 0 to that number. There are about 4 to 5 dealerships buying up these cars let alone the hoarders, then you have a pool of private flippers like that guy with the 10 different supras in his backyard in Tennessee.

Exactly, there are about a dozen that I know of some are dealerships, but most are private buyers/flippers.. but they get their hands on the majority of cars.

It's crazy not too long ago that price for a NA with those miles wouldn't have been too good to be true.

50% of supra buyers aren't flippers...you skimmed over the fact the 5% can buy multiple cars. You could say 50% of supras are flipped yes...but not 50% of buyers are flipping. Not sure what we're arguing here. A flipper is trying to buy the car for the lowest price possible to make money, a honest buyer will always be willing to pay more for a keeper.

My fault, my question should have been what % of supras sold are being bought by flippers.

I remember in 2012 being offered 5 speeds for 12k and turning them down as a total waste of time pos. Its not like I didn't have the money for a 6 speed then which could have been had for 30 but I didn't feel they were worth it at the time. Now they're 50% more expensive and I'm looking again. Ended up buying a 50k viper at the time. Had I bought the supra I'd have about 15k appreciation and a collector car. But that viper was well worth it. And I still have another now that's well worth it!! Have wanted to try a 6 speed supra for years and lost 5 cars in heartbreaking fashion this year do to said people.

There are so many people I know (personally), who are going through the same thing. I feel once the new supra pops up for sale it will bring the mkiv full circle and will appreciate to $80k a pop. I'm sure many of you disagree with me but i'm just throwing my opinion out there. The days of 6 speeds selling for 30k are never going to come back the same way house prices will never reach the low prices they did in 2008-2013.
