+1000000000. The quality on mine was SHIT, did not even match up to the upper radiator supports. It was a f'n hassle to get it replaced, the vender who I wont mentioned related it was not there fault and I would need to contact Fluidyne directly, Thats the last time I deal with them!

Well, I was staring at my engine bay today getting ready to pull the rad to try and fit the shroud and found another issue that might be the nail in the coffin. It seems that it might clear the IC piping but there is no way it will fit without relocating the battery . Kinda bummed about it since I really didnt want to move the battery and have all the fan motors and new blades sitting here. Guess its time to decide if I want to build a new intake manifold and come up with a battery solution. It does look like a very promising set up but does come with some comprimises.

I would love for someone to do an apples to apples comparison on these...with real data and numbers...not saying they don't work but it's hard to believe they work THAT MUCH better than the tried and true stock units. Just my worthless 2C;-)

It definately wont clear the factory battery set up. It may clear if you went to a much smaller battery that didnt hang over the frame rail.

They should work real well since it is an oem dual fan set up.

In the other fan thread I did put up some data. It is not fancy graphs from a dyno etc. I stated the temps that my gauges displayed with stock, AAP and the lexus kit.

AAP basically just overheated a lot under harsh conditions. Stock is a good set up as we all know. The lexus kit however kept the temps a good bit lower than stock even under harsh driving and hot temps

these are after all stock fans off an lexus engineered product (IS300), which is has the 2jz-ge in it.

I have good faith that they were engineered to give the proper flow that a 2jz requires.

can you give measurements so I can see if we can use an aftermarket fan, and also a CX racing radiator?

Sorry for the late reply with pictures of the Koyo fitment problems. I have been swamped with work lately. On with the pics.

This first group you can see that the "wings" on the sides of the shroud hit the side of the core and do not allow the shroud to sit fluch with the radiator. This can be addressed easily by just trimming them flush. The Koyo pics are from Twincharges car and you can also see his shroud is slightly different in the top mount ( prototype possibly) and kinda looks tacky. You will also notice that the shroud is shifted to the passenger side a bit when the top mounts are lined up which also creates an issue with the lower rad hose as well as not covering the entire core.

Both of us are running Koyo rads and both have had the stock shrouds in place which fit perfect so we know that they arent the issue. I went ahead and dug out my stock radiator to check fit ment with that. Now the little wings work fine here due to the skinny core but I doubt many will use this set up on a stock rad so its a moot point. My concern here was the fitment of the tabs. Again as with the koyo if I line up the upper tabs the shroud is shifted to the passenger side causing the above mentioned issues. If I line up the lower driver side mount the shroud fit perfect, the rad hose clears and all is well with the exception that the other 3 mounts no longer line up. In short my reccomendation to Powerhouse it trim the sides flush, fit the shroud to a stock rad and maybe an aftermarket rad of higher quality than the Fluidyne is currently and get the tab fitment correct. Oh, one more issue. The shroud will not fit with the stock battery in place. You either have to relocate it or run a small enough battery that does not hang over the fram rail.

These pics are with the lower drivers mount lined up and the shroud is nice and centered.

Here with the upper mount lined up you can see the issues

Thanks for the reply Joe. Let me know when you get those done. Id much rather have one of those than have to hack up the one I got to make it fit. How soon do you think it will be and how should we go about the return shipping on the shrouds? Thanks again.

SDstreetracer, in your opinion, will this fit with a stock intake manifold, 4row piping, and relocated battery??

We both have shrouds with these issues so I hope you have more than 1. Have the fitment issues been resolved?
