Which LSD is best for road racing ?
What LSD would you choose for a 600hp 6-spd MKIV supra ?
TRD, KAAZ, CUSCO, 1,5way 2way ?

well cant say witch brand is best, i only have experience with one. i have a kaaz 1.5way and very happy with it.
1.5 way is best for roadracing and autox. 2 way is best for drifting a gear type lsd is best for roadracing/ autox. quaife would be the best example but they do not make one for the supra. |

How are these aftermarket LSD for the road? Seeing as mine is an occasional track racer.

i like the carbonetics and have one in the evo... the only problem with them is the price. i don't feel like the carbon plate is worth twice the money as the TRD.

I get the carbonetic carbon lsd's for ~$990 so I suppose it depends where you shop.

I would highly recommend the OS Giken differential.. I run it on my own car and I used to have an open differential and a Quaife before the OS Giken Super Lock LSD.
The OS Giken LSD was an amazing upgrade over my Quaife. |

Check out this article I wrote with MotoIQ.com -it's a great read to understand how LSD units work, and how to tune them for your desired needs. Often LSD units are too aggressive out of the box and some slight tuning can yield seconds on the track:

Still not much info on the original question.
Greg C. or billy I am still on the original stock diff. Would we gain time by swappping to a TRD or a Carbonnetics? Or is it just for durability Thank You...Mark B. |

I am looking for more info on this as well. I would love to get a TRD just because I know for a fact that it works well, but I am curious how the Carbonetics, and even more so the OS Giken, compare to the TRD. What exactly is the difference between them and under what circumstances would one be better than the other? Anyone?

For what its worth, on Miata, the OS Giken is a cheat code. Absolutely unreal what you can do with a rear end with it.
