2JZ install into a DeLorean

Hello,

I am going to install a Aristo engine into my 82 DeLorean. I have a few ECU/ electrical question.

1. How do i trick the stock ECU to think the traction controll is disabled? must be grounding a pin or two.

2. The DeLorean uses a cable driven speedo so i don't have a signal pulse to provide the ECU. I'll be using the stock DeLorean transaxle. do i need to even provide a pulse?

3. the DeLorean provides a +12v signal to activate the A/C compressor. i see the Aristo ECU has two pins that correspond to the A/C. what do i need to do.

I'm also looking for a wire harness for an Aristo. Mine came cut. The motor is in very good shape thank goodness.

I would like to extend my thanks in advance for any help. I'll continue to use the search feature to try and answer these but i have not been Successful.

-Ed

Wow, that's going to be a lot of customization and welding. Are you sure you want to do this? It will lower the collectability of your car. Isn't the vaue of the Delorian back up to what it was off of the show room floor for stainless steal editions and off the chart for gold plated editions?

The Aristo engine harness and ECU are identical to the supra one, all you need to do is leave the Trac unplugged, there is a seperate ecu for trac just leave it out.

I used an Aristo ecu in my swap ( MkIII ) and haven't hooked up anything pertaining to Traction. I see no problems at all nor do I get a code. I actually pulled all the traction and automatic tranny related wires from the harness.

The MkIII supra also uses a cable driven speedo however the signal is converted to electronic at the speedometer to feed into the ecu and abs unit. Check to see if the Dolorean has a similar setup with signal converted to electronic at the speedometer.

The AC signal that you would need is the one for the MAG. Same thing in a MKIII Supra, we use only two wires , and all the rest is for the speed sensing of some kind I believe.

Which part of the harness is cut? The two connectors for the ECU ( e-9 and e-10) Is what you will really need.
The other is the body harness connector and the plug is basically chopped of and only some wires used.

thanks for the info!!

I planned on pulling all the trac control and auto tranny related wires and plugs too. Is there any benefit to finding a manual ECU?

The delorean does not convert to an electronic speedo pulse so i'll make something. Trigger wheel on the axle hub and a hall sensor should to the trick.

I'll just trigger the A/C MAG signal with the +12V i guess. Am i correct in saying that?

The main engine harness is cut between the engine and ECU plugs. i would like to get a replacement so it looks clean going though the fire wall.

Is the stock transaxle going to hold up under that kind of power?

Anouther item you guys can help me with is what is the "lowest profile" flywheel that will fit the 2JZ. not a flex plate. i do not care about what pressure plate will fit. I need to have the least distance between the engine and transmission.

Really cool project. I haven't seen one in person in years.

What does the DeLorean tip the scales at?

no because Mr. Fusion only powers time circuts, the car still need to run on the internal combustion engine

im not exactly sure how the astro tb is but im pretty sure you have to install resistors to the tb sub tps in order to tell the comp that its open. you can search and find the awnsers i did the same thing to my usdm car over the winter.
