Where did you come up with this supposed 10yr rule?
Do you live in the US? If so, there is no such thing. You can import anything you like if you have patience and money. If I had the patience a Chaser would not be top of my list to import

There is a 25 year rule. Grandfathered exemptions are usage specific though.

Canada has a 15 year rule. US doesn't have any rules. Just a long list of cars that are eligible for import.

I rode in a Verosa (similar to a chaser, VVTi 1jz-gte 4 door), when i was in japan for vacation a while back. That was a fun ride.
Good luck.

Chasers, I like the turbo versions.
It's called the "Tourer V" and comes with 1JZ and a parallel twin turbo (non seq.) in Japan, VIP is a style that's all about making your car look "phat" here's an LS400 that's typically done up in "VIP STYLE" slammed, tinted windows, and big dish wheels...

It's when some kid slams his big luxury car on huge wheels with no tire and gobs of negative camber, which almost renders the car undriveable. They're the new ricers.

Chasers are neat cars, would make a fun DD. As for VIP style, I have yet to see any real VIP riding around in a car done like that.

Real VIP is expensive, just as real "tuner" cars are expensive. It can be done tacky/cheap or proper/costly. Example of proper VIP treatment...
![]() I'm not a VIP fan boy, but the guys at JP set this one off correct Those chasers pic'd above are more like cross-over drift/VIP-ish inspired. Here's a vid of a tough ass drift spec Verosa ripping up the road in Japan. It's the curvy dark red one they do a lot of views from through the sun roof. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COW4v...eature=related ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

No, I have never said it once. Plus if I did say it, I would say nigga. Nigger is derogatory. Nigga is slang, thanks to dumb rap music.

A proper VIP car would be sweet to have as a daily (in the same way an Escalade or something would be), but other than that...meh. Plus 99% of the ones I've seen like that look like shit. |

JZX90-JZX100 Chaser/Cresta/MKII's are fairly common over here (Japan). They are the car of choice for a lot of people that don't want to lay a lot of cash out for something that can be made relatively fast. RWD + 5 speed + 1JZ = Fun. They were all available in a stick. I've seen so many of them that the novelty has worn off for me. Importing one? I suppose you could if you had enough money to throw at an RI. Would it be worth it financially? Hell no, there are a lot more capable cars out there for less money.
The Toyota Verossa is kind of an oddball. Toyota consolidated the whole lineup in 01' with the Verossa (JZX110). The VR25 model still had RWD, 1JZ and could be had with a stick (rare though). However there was a public backlash due to the quirky styling. They didn't sell anywhere near the numbers that they did of the JZX90's and 100's. Toyota killed the platform off in early 04' (most are 01's though). I have a friend that pseudo-drifts his 110', it's got a bodykit and is halfway decent looking. Here's a stock one, kinda bland: ![]() "VIP" is fairly popular out here. Think huge wheels, slammed + lotsa negative camber. Not my cup of tea but I don't pretend to "get" half the retarded shit they do out here anyway. Example, a typical Saturday night: WTF? ![]() How about an "El-Sky-Camino"? ![]() Batman may pimp the Batmobile in Hollywood but apparently he drives this van out here... ![]() Ryan |
