More the price, and the displacement, well lots of reasons. I could have had A/C but the car has not had it in 3 years so screw it. Hell yeah i have power steering!! that was simple, the Z lines were the same size and hooked right up!! i just moved the reservoir to the other side. Everything works except the speedo. But soon enough i will get it.

Did you use a kit? Well done.
Oh no!! everything was done in my garage had built, welded ect,ect by me.

That is the shitty part, The clutch i put in the car was suppost to be a stage 4 so to speak, when i got the car running the clutch slips.... BAD!! anything over 1/4 throttle it slips. Sucks because im lucky if i can get the wastegate open. Now the company has gone under and no phone, e-mail, basically i got the shaft. I have a short vid but its embarrassing at only 1/4 throttle its nothing special i just wanted to hear the exhaust from the back and my buddy ended up putting it online. With that said i know i will get hounded so here you go!! listen in the vid, 3rd gear starts to slip when i try to give more than 1/4.

Have you had a chance to weigh the car with the new setup? I wonder if you'll have wheel hop issues with the new setup like the regular VG power plant TT's do.

very nice, how did you get the hood to close? How close is the oil pan to the steering rack/crossmember?

The wheel hop issue that many Z32s have has nothing to do with the VG but the factory suspension setup. I believe SpecialtyZ sells subframe spacers to resolve this issue for those more serious about the 1/4.

No i have not, I really think it will be lighter. Having both engines on the stands i think the 2j is definitely lighter.

I never thought that it was going to close to be honest. but when i put the hood on the only thing that tuched was the turbo. And its very close the the rack, id say about 1/8 inch.

very correct, or even just good bushings in the rear subframe will help.

My brother has 92 z32 n/a 5spd. He was thinking of this for alot of years. And also I told him that it will be nice to have RB26 in it as for Nissan for Nissan. But regardless 2JZ or RB26 in z32 will kick ass.
Hope you take care your clutch and start kicking ass :-D
Im proud of you what you done to it. Its nice and sexy!
Much props to you doing this in your own garage, you just save labor cost. Your a smartman!

Peace

I would never let a shop touch my car!! i hate getting alignments done and thats the only time it sees any shop.
Couple years ago i built a Single turbo setup for the VG that was pretty bad ass but i sold it to fund the monster i have now.

omg my brother was SOOOO mad when he saw this! lol he has a fully built 300 with twin gt2871Rs. He is verrrrry supportive of the VG and hates when the swaps happen. At least its not another LS1!!

Although I gotta say...pretty sick

What kind of power is he making with the 2871's? Should be pretty nasty.

To the OP, very nice work, but you need a new third brake light

on 15psi it made 474whp on a mustang dyno. I forget the torque number. It is a pretty wicked ride. He and his engine builder are working on a twin gt30 setup right now, with some pretty kick ass internal work. This guy really knows the VG in and out!

That sound absolutely matches the looks of the Z32. The way it should have been from the get go! I really dislike the way the VG sounds, always have.

Now the other sound, RB26, with a nice T51R is my favorite. Couple that to a Z32 and you have bliss.

Great job! Love the car! As far as wiring goes, was it quite complicated? Any pointers? (if you know what I mean )

Not as bad as everyone leads it on to be! just spend some time on forums and google searching for diagrams for each. Not to bad at all.

That's a pretty good number for 15 lbs. Efficient. What's his high boost for pump gas?

Here is one my friend and I did a few years back.. Car was originally swapped in 2001
967whp on c16 stock motor with 272s..
Getrag 6spd,42r,custom header,4" exhuast etc
Now it sports a 6spd rear, gt4788, 3.2lt and built race head.
The 345s really help put the power down.
