bolt-on C5 Z06 runs 10.99@123.72mph

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-z...n-the-10s.html

impressive run. I didn't know c5 z06 were capable of running 10's with minor bolt-ons.
list of mods:
American Racing Headers
Vararam intake
Textralia Exoskel Clutch
4.10 gears

stock cam, stock exhaust, stock intake manifold, etc.

Light weight car, good tires, good driver and if the LS6 is tuned up with those bolt ons it can easily do 10's.

I don't know aobut easily; Keep in mind this is the first bolt-on Z06 to run a 10-second slip and it was a 10.99. This car doesn't run 10's, it ran 10. I still love them and you simply can NOT beat a C5 Z06 when it comes to bang for the buck with where prices are now.

having owned quite a few z06's each with different mods from bolt ons to strokers I can say that if the driver is on point there would be alot more in the 10's with bolt ons... Just most vette owners are fags and are afraid to hammer on their car.

this thread reminds me of a local F body guy who says "stock LS1's run 12s" when all the cars he mentions are drag radialed, 01-02 with the good heads and LS6 intake and SLP options... yeah sounds like the average Fbody.

cool run, with a MS4 cam itll run 10s all day long, but right now its just a miracle run

Impressive...obviously the gears/driver/tires are the main attributes to getting that car in the 10's here. A 123MPH Trap is a pretty low power/weight ratio to run 10s with...

You cant beat prices on stock C5's right now either. 15k for a 345hp+ car.

Defininately looking dated now a days, but hell, I just keep seeing track car written all over it. Gut it and get some R6s, woo hoo!

That's all just from the first page if I search C5s under $17k in price. Two more pages yet.

And I mentioned r6s, in the case of the autos then a set of DRs

a friend of mine just ditched his 504awhp Evo VIII for an 04 Z06, he went to ECS in NJ and got a paxton novi2000 installed, on an otherwise stock Z06. made 583whp on 8psi, through the stock manifolds, stock exhaust, stock cam, stock heads. on 93octane pump. the car is an animal. C5 Z06 offers great bang for the buck, but like i said, and others have said a 10.99 isnt "10s" its a miracle pass.

Looks like it was a best of 10.89 @ 125 with a couple of 10 second runs that day.

I wouldnt call that a miracle pass.

FWIW, density altitude at 5:05pm on 21 Nov at Atco was ~ -1900ft. It wasn't a miracle pass, it was a miracle day.

Good for him to have a day like that. I dont think it takes anything away from the run.
