Redline Time Attack Buddy Club FWD Street class entry

I know alot of you follow bigger/more popular race series but the RTA appeals more to those who appreciate grassroot efforts aswell as a mix of makes, models and layouts. Ive been personally involved with a friend's effort, hes been building his car over the course of the last 5years and its a street car that is used yearly for the Onelap of America. Due to unforseen circumstances we were unable to run Onelap this year but the car was up again for the start of Redline Time Attack Eastern division out in Illinois. Vid here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqZ-YxVM8TU

the ACC race recap can be seen here:

http://www.redlinetimeattack.com/Event/Details/6

with video:

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/R...und_691102.htm

this was on the old setup which was rounded out by 17x8 OZ wheels wrapped in 255 section Continental street tires. Since that race which he won his class in the process i got an opportunity to get the car on the rollers to dial in the new setup he got from Forced Performance. The car runs a Mopar Stage 3 kit with toys, CNC Port head, Crane 16 cams, Fidenza Cam Gears, DCR oil restricter, DCR tensioner, Stock bottom end, ACT clutch, FP Green Stage 3 turbo (TD04-18g) , Maxxfab 02 housing w/ Side exit exhaust and a big front mount...all else is oem save for cage, weight redux and suspension. Its a simple setup that yields decent results:

run3 was oem S3 setup on 110 leaded and red is with new setup on 104 unleaded. the car makes a lil more power than that of the graph but none the less Thanks FP

Its evident from the video the car has traction issues so to solve this a new setup was needed so enter 18x9.5 Enkei wheels + body mods to fit them:

yes those are 275/35ZR18s on there

the 2nd race of the eastern division was this past weekend in Nashville, TN which also was the same site for the Import Alliance event. It was a huge event and a very large aswell as diverse crowd attended. I was unable to attend this race but the car/driver were on hand to continue the quest for 1st in FWD street class:

pre race video:

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/R...und_697807.htm

the battle is pretty intense in this class and the nearest competitor is piloting an RSX but the times werent as close as one might think but hes got the points to be a contender. Best shot of the weekend:

the Nashville race recap can be seen here:

http://www.redlinetimeattack.com/Article/Details/41

will update as the season continues with the next race at CMP on August 8th and 9th thats Columbia, South Carolina area. Doug has always been very open about his car and the setup as theres nothing to hide. Thanks

Is someone actually campaigning an old-skool Dodge Daytona in the FWD class?

Doug is the sole SRT4 entry in this series and one of very few racing an SRT4 currently. I have a friend in Gainesville, FL who purchased the whole Hal Brown SRT4 effort and once he gets his license we will be road racing one of the World Challenge SRT4s again (the Aweida car). I dont want anyone to get the impression this car is a trailer queen, it gets driven on the street and it sees 93octane gas all the time. The car was built mainly to compete in Onelap but it fits into RTA so he does RTA, Lap Battle and Onelap aswell as the ocassional HPDE. Heck i drove it home one day and took it out to Greenville Tech then met up with Doug out in Greer. Its a blast to drive slow or fast haha should see the reaction from people when its out on the road. Not to mention the ricers who try to race is rediculous haha

I dont know if any of you guys made it to the Import Alliance meet this year. It was stupid crazy, they had to start turning cars away by noon because they hit the 2000 car cap. Everyone should try to make this meet next year.

Cool looking shots with the 2 wheelers.

I'm also curious - what kind of fender flares did you use? Or are they a custom job?

Any reason why you're sticking with Continentals? Just curious because there are are stickier non r-compound tires on the market right now that would definitely cut down your lap times. Perhaps something in the rules regarding treadwear or are they your sponsors?

Continental sponsors him and the class hes in has a treadwear limit. the car is shown as the:

Forced Performance/Continental Tire Dodge SRT4

in Redline Time Attack races/information
