Yes, Arnout makes V160 parts but look at the cost compared to what Toyota was selling them for.

Still better than not having any parts at all and he is the first person I would contact if I needed some but it would be nice to have a lower cost alternative.

The issue that lies is most if not all of the highly expensive tooling/molds/materials for making all of this stuff has been destroyed. Is it alot of money for toyota to retool? not for toyota but the reality is due to new adopted manufacturing processes and equipment to go back to produce old parts with the old equipment is 100% not going to happen. I could see some chinese factory doing some shitty quality stuff but even thats a long shot.

Signed and full support. Would definitely make it easier for me in the future with my MKIV, as well as even out the market for OEM parts. I love what Nissan did with the R32... and I precisely said the day I read about it "Toyota needs to do this with the MKIV Supra. It already is a cult icon and a Japanese legend in the racing world...."

I see a lot of mentions of a want of dash pads, and understandably it's a good one. However, not everyone who has a Mk4 will buy a new dash pad, so we're talking about an extremely limited market here.

My point is this: Would you be willing to pay between $3000 to $5000 for a new dash pad? Shop around for parts for an LFA, just to ballpark what we'd potentially be looking at.

Now... if Toyota was truly passionate about their motorsports history in the same sense that Nissan is, they MIGHT just say, "profit be damned" and make us some new restoration parts at semi-reasonable prices. I wouldn't hold your breath, but hold onto that hope!

The mkIV has never become a real success to Toyota as in sold number of cars and profit made. I doubt they would really want to invest in this. Regarding the Getrag parts, the company Getrag in southern germany made all these parts for Toyota (as well as for nissan but also transmissions for other cars like mitsubishi, BMW and Porsche). They haven't produced any parts for a long time and they are now owned by another company called Magna International (out of Canada). Their focus is by far NOT on a 25 years old car. We should really investigate more in the aftermarket industry. There are companies supplying fully replacement getrags and ZF transmissions for older cars. Unfortunately all those companies cannot make the complex parts in our getrags. I am working on it and I've got a lot already done. I finished the shifter sleeves (billet), there are also made in china shifter sleeves on the market as well now, I have all the synchros in stock, I have all the gears, all the seals, all the bearings. I am doing the housings. I am VERY close to Toyota Europe both in miles as well as in contacts within the company.

Again, have them seek Tremec to make v160 parts. More important than aesthetic interior parts at this point.

of all the parts they are likely to remanufacture, V160 stuff is unfortunately probably at the bottom of the list.

Because they are, spoke to Curt many times about this and his toyota reps confirmed it. They don't make new car parts from the old molds. Like I said earlier, manufacturing processes used in the 1990's are so far obsolete in 2017 there is no way they retained that old tooling. This needs to be a unilateral movement across other 1990's toyota models IMO to make it worthwhile or even give this a 5% chance of happening.
