    You poor bastard.

Would also love to see a positive response from the upper management on this, if you're able to get one. I'll go ahead and play devil's advocate here, for a moment. "If we sell you parts for the old sports cars, why would you want to buy our new sports cars?" I could counter this argument with Nissan's example, in that they still sell the R35, meanwhile they're reintroducing NLA parts for the R32 and have plans to expand that availability to later cars...

Personally, I'd love to be able to buy a new Supra, but my heart will always lie with their older ones too.

Download the IMSA app on your smart TV and Roku player. Enjoy real racing!

If I can get my car going I'm going to try to get a Supra Corral going and have the Supra parked next to the legendary Ford GT, Ferraris, and the likes. This car deserves a group of owners who recognize this car for more than just a straight line beast. The Supra is best suited on the track. I'm building my Supra up to do exactly that at Daytona Speedway, Homestead, Sebring, Road Atlanta and hopefully one day Circuit of the Americas.

I'm out til the end of this event. Oh and Happy birthday to me. LoL

Supras make fantastic road race cars, particularly the Mk4. I built mine by stirring as much Miata into the mix as I could without going nuts on weight reduction and ruining the overall experience that makes it a great road trip car too. Happy birthday man, and enjoy the race!

"Dear Mr. Toyoda and Mr. Lentz,

Your work on the current Supra is amazing to say the least. Which makes me worry about one thing, what's going to happen down the road when it needs to be repaired?

You currently have this issue. MANY upset customers whom are in dire need of replacement parts for the Mkiv (1993-2002) Supra. I'd like to help you solve this. Paul Van der Burgh has shown interest in this and designated Samantha Betts to us.

    Here's the link. https://www.change.org/p/chris-nielson-toyota-motor-corp-to-hear-the-needs-of-it-s-supra-owners-and-to-continue-producing-parts"

going to send this, Short and to the point.

    anything you guys would change?

Are any of us truly in "dire" need of anything mentioned in this thread? Wanting, absolutely, but in dire need? I dunno if that's the approach I would take, personally. Now, I'd completely agree with the sentiment that we all want our cars on the road as long as possible, in as best condition as we can conceivably keep them, yes. I want to restore my Supra, as do many of you.

That's probably the point I'd steer towards, the idea that we want to keep the Supra heritage strong for a long time to come, and be able to bring more of these cars back. As is, numbers are dwindling...

I write with reference to our recent correspondence about the availability of parts for the Toyota Supra.

Following your contact, we have made enquiries on your behalf to our European Head Office. I am sorry to advise you there are no current plans to restart production on parts that are currently discontinued. However, the availability and production of genuine parts for heritage models is constantly under review.

I am sorry we are unable to provide you with a positive response and for the disappointment this will cause but thank you for taking the time to contact Mr Van der Burgh.

As a former Supra owner I have been debating getting back into the platform over the past few years, but its replies like the one the petition has received from Toyota corporate that pushes me away. Supra's as a platform truly deserve better heritage support than what Toyota appears they will ever offer going forward.

With just an estimated 11,500 or so Supra's sold in the US market, for all intensive purposes, Toyota is slowly issuing a death sentence to the platform with each newly discontinued part. Unfortunately for the Supra platform and many others like it, its painfully obvious that auto manufacturers, Toyota included, are moving away from gasoline powered vehicles. The investment by them from a financial perspective would far exceed the R.O.I they would receive off the sale of new Supra parts, and they appear to have no nostalgic intent to offer restoration parts going forward.

While I don't think Supra's as a platform are going to just die off overnight, for those individuals who like to drive their cars more so than garage them the response from Toyota is the worst possible news. If your building a race car OE window trim, molding, interior trim, etc. may not be very important, but for those who want to keep their Supra's in pristine condition its the little things that will slowly drag the car down. Unless the aftermarket is able to secure/create new molds for a host of parts I feel that Supra restoration in as little as the next decade will be non-existent. I truly hope that this is not the case, and that future innovations in 3D printing coupled with the unique Supra aftermarket companies can handle the future needs of the Supra community.
I work for a supplier to Toyota Motor North America aka TMNA formally TMS which is Toyota Motor Sales.

As a supplier, we give Toyota an option to do a final buy. The reason are the old machines are bulky and don't make sense to keep if they are not being fully used. So the old tooling usually gets scrapped aka to a recyler. No reason to pay $ to keep a tool for something if we are not making the item anymore.

So in reality, if it's discontinued and the plant (supplier) that was selling to TMNA discontinued the product 95% chance the tooling was scrapped.

I'm all for reproducing parts but its most likely not going to happen. Also if you request a manufacture to reproduce a product, profitability will be taken a roll. Got to order bulk or it's just not worth the cost. Who's going to buy 300 door panels? or 300 transmissions? If somebody does pick all them up, who's going to hold the bill and how are they going to recoup $? They would have to sell for a substantial increase in the cost and nobody is paying $15000 for a brand new V160 at the moment. BTW that's how the Porsche 911 market stays afloat. They sell everything for double of when it was mass produced.

Curious? Why not offer an auction for the tools to someone if they're going to destroy them? It would be advantageous for everyone if they entertained doing that. Also, the blue prints for the specifications, tolerances etc, can that be obtained?

Toyota owns the tooling and specifications. They do not want the aftermarket to get Toyota Specifications.

Most of the simpler parts can be reverse engineered in China just like the front lips. Panels can be easily reproduced and cheaper. As for the major items like diffs, and gears we do have these parts available in the aftermarket. Unfortunately they are expensive as hell, and the people making them make a killing on them because they are the one willing to fork out the investment to get them made.

If somebody else went to get the input shaft made and asked the company to make 4000 units, I bet they would become extremely affordable. Unfortunate side is we don't have 4000 people wanting the input shaft made.

this is my 2 cents, as a guy that runs these numbers for Toyota.

I signed of course but dang! I'm kinda disappointed in Toyota's response. Currently my car is fine mechanically and has been running great. I've been buying spare parts for it over the years that I just store for this very reason. I just bought a new set of OEM Euro style headlights for it last week because they were available (expensive but brand new). Functionally there is nothing wrong with the ones on it but they are fading as the US versions do and I've started in recent years to realize that a lot of parts are getting harder and harder to find. Plus they cost more when you can find them of course so I just just keep buying things even if I don't need them right now.

What bugs me the most though is as a previous poster mentioned. I like to drive mine and even though I don't drive it a lot, this is going to make me re-think even doing that much at all anymore. Makes me sad to even think that.

I heard a rumor (perceived to be true) that someone (edit: CBS Racing) just convicted Toyota to reproduce right hand drive Dashes. Maybe it’s not true, but what better time than now, with the Supra name being resurrected, to get their attention on parts for our chassis.

I wouldn't take as much offense if the RHD cars got parts. If we get left out on LHD parts I still wouldn't be as left behind feeling as we are now. This just sucks.

After an online search it would appear that CBS Racing is a relatively new shop that already has a bad reputation for screwing people over. Unfortunately they are the only company advertising these new Toyota RHD dashboards.

It would seem that they have been known to sell broken gearboxes (sold as rebuilt) for both the Supra and Lexus. They apparently "mapped" a customers car but didn't change anything at all but wouldn't release the car unless the customer paid.

It doesn't make for good reading.

They are claiming to have managed to get a limited production run directly from Toyota themselves. Seems too good to be true.
