Was a lurker when I had my Supra back in 09. Had a couple of cool builds since then. Currently have a 01nitrous Silverado, and working on my 03 GT with an ls swap 6.0/th400 and turbo build. Once I button up on the mustang this year I’m dying to get back in another mk3. Nothing ridiculous just a clean bpu build with some cosmetics. Last car was a hardtop so really want a targa and have a fun driver car this go around! Going to lurk and try and catch up on everything I’ve missed 😂

Texas, where it's full and we have no more room for people from out of state looking to move here. Seriously, we are full.

...And I am looking at a local 89 with a BHG.

The condition of the car is a great foundation for my project plan and it has some items that I am keeping and other that I am offloading (like gauges, I have never been a fan of the multi cluster gauge fuck that liters most imports, NOx and anything else that is just not in my plan so keeps eyes peeled).

Though I am hoping for the best, the BHG was due to detonation. The HG was a metal hg so I am thinking that it more than likely took a piston with it (the pop happened at 30 psi which leads me to believe it was due to lean condition) which means I will have to tear engine apart. Not a big a deal since this won't be the first time.

    figgie,

My man! So glad you're back. You were always a great source for this member's education. Best of luck with the car and the BHG.

Been driving my '87 Turbo 23 years. I've rebuilt everything over the years by myself (and Godwin-Singer machine shop). Check out the latest sweetness. I found a parking brake handle from a car that only had 54K miles on it. The leather is like new.

Got you PM, bud. Only one MKIII for me. Glad you guys are keeping it 7M. I've attended several meets with my MKIII where my car is the only MKIII with a 7M-GTE motor. Not banging on motor swaps, but having the original motor in the car is important to me and how I use it (primarily as an excellent long distance cruiser).
