    Spec Hydraulic release bearing issue

I have a twin plate carpon spec clutch on my 6 speed MKIV & i had replaced two spec hidrolic release bearing so far as it was always leaking, now i wanted to buy a Tilton release from Power house racing but they have told me that its confirmed that it works only with the mini triple clutch & they did not tryed it on a twin plate, have anyone used it or have a solution for my issue ?

Please refer to PHR Tilton release link below:

    Wrong section friend.
    Oh, and it's 'hydraulic'
Sorry, no answer for your question, as I only use clutches from people like Tilton, OS Giken, Quartermaster, etc..

With stuff like this, you're going to have to experiment a bit. The fact that PHR made a specific new part to replace the SPEC component tells me it's a known issue.

According to the link you posted, PHR says it works on the twin plate. Worst case, if you decide to give up on that clutch, you can sell it for a bit more $ with a brand new PHR release bearing system.

If it were my decision to make, I'd try the PHR unit and if it doesn't work perfectly, talk to PHR about it and work through it with them. They're pretty good about backing up their stuff.

Judging by the syntax, it's likely English isn't his first language. Plus he's already tried to solve the problem himself, so let's cut him some slack.

Chances are if it works for the triple but not the twin it'll be a piston length issue.

Not overly familiar with the SPEC release bearing (other than the fact that they fail often) but it appears to be a standard 44mm release diameter. Have access to one of the SPEC release bearings so you can measure the diameter of the contact surface on the bearing?

If it's a 44mm Tilton makes many different lengths of pistons so it would be pretty easy to get the right piston for it to make it work with the twin disk.
