Can we stop calling this an A90 ?

Let's be for real here folks. The "A" chassis codes were for Supras made in Japan. The MKV's OFFICIAL chassis code is J29/DB. A BMW code. J29 = Japanese Supra. G29 = German Z4. Let's call it what it is.

Is this really why the previous Supra's had the Axx nomenclature? Because they were built in Japan? I always thought it represented the car model (i.e., Supra) and not where it was built (even though they were all built in Japan). Ehhh....what do I know about Supra's right?

Ehhh...u drive a Subaru, your ignorance is forgiven. And the "A" is for the model. Not place of manufacture. That's what the "J" is for in the VIN, which the J29 does not have either.

That was what I was pointing out, because you stated, "The "A" chassis codes were for Supras made in Japan." Was the "A" really for cars made in Japan, or for the model in general regardless of where it was built? Why are you so defensive? Because I drive a Subaru and happen to know basic facts of a Supra, I cannot question the accuracy of your comment? Thanks for your "forgiveness" oh wise one.

I think there was a basic understanding that all Supras were built in Japan. "A" does refer to being a Supra (at least through MKIV).

This is a very valid point since the car is not produced by Toyota and thereby shouldn't be expected to follow Toyota nomenclature.

A Zupra by any other name would still be a Z4. Oh well.
