Where are all the MKIV Supras?

Been lurking/posting on this forum for a long time, mainly waiting for the right built supra to pop up. The For Sale section seems to have slowed down considerably over the past few years. Is there a better place to find a well sorted/built supra or is the market really that thin?

I find everything is on the Facebook groups now. Forums are slowly becoming the age of the dinosaur =(

Honestly, what I'm going to do is make a post in the WTB section on here and let them come to me. That's to start off. Make a post with my budget, what in particular I'm looking for, as well as mods/colors/other nick nacks.

Do the same on some of the FB for sale groups, and then start the browsing myself. Just have to put your name out there and your contact info. Although given those factors, I've still talked to people that have told me it can sometimes take upwards of six to eight months, even longer, to find the one you want.

When I look for cars I use facebook marketplace, searchtempest.com, ebay, bringatrailer and forums. Searchtempest searches multiple craigslists by X distance of a zip code. However I bet those listings will be dwindling now that CL started charging $5 per vehicle listing on April 15th. When I bought my Supra I found it listed on this forum last fall. The seller had only listed it here. It was exactly what I was looking (white, targa, pre 96, auto tt, < 100k miles, clean title) for and surprisingly 3 hours away from me. You just have to be patient and be ready to buy financially when the right one shows up.

And yes, sadly forum activity for every car forum I'm on has been slowing down over the years. Now people use social media where the same questions get asked over and over again.

Forums are loaded with ads is why I find myself frequenting them less.

With regards to a car, just watch the forum, eBay, FB,and the usual AutoTrader/Cars.com etc. It'll happen but its going to take awhile. The cars are climbing in value fast again and making it a challenge to get to a clean car first. Many cars are sold word of mouth and never hit the market. Not a bad idea to make friends with local owners in your area and let them know you are looking.

The newest USDM MKIV is 21 years old; cars are being wrecked, taken apart/forgotten, sold overseas, etc. Supply is unfortunately going to continue to drop for USDM cars.

I'm still looking for an Anthracite Auto TT on black with reasonable miles. I'll continue to hold my breath however.
