ALL Piston and Rod Weights Here

OK, I am starting to do research on what components I want to put into my new shortblock, and in doing so, I have been emailing some of these companies trying to get all the weights of different hardware, but they are slow to respond so far. If you have ANY info that you can add to this, please do so, as it will help out bigtime. There are probably more companies out there that I would be glad to add to the list, but I am just starting with the ones I know of. If this thread gets enough detail and input from everyone over time, it may just become a sticky . I am going to use the middle of the road 86.5mm pistons, when available, as a baseline to compare them all. If the company does not make an 86.5mm, I will input whatever is closest. I would think that from any manufacturer, you would just add or subtract 5-10 either way when stepping up or down. That will keep this list a little more organized looking. Here is what I have so far. The ones in GREEN have been officially hand weighed by someone and are not just manufacturers specs, which we all know are not the most accurate :

    Pistons

    STOCK - 86mm / 8:5:1 / Piston 407g / Pin 132g / Rings / Clips / Total Weight = ~ 565-575g

    Mahle 4032 - 86.5mm / 8:5:1 / Piston 313g / Pin (.197" Wall) 101g / Rings 22g / Clips 1g / Total Weight = 437g

    Mahle 2618 - 86.5mm / 8:5:1 / Piston 340g / Pin (.197" Wall) 102g / Rings 22g / Clips 1g / Total Weight = 465g

    Wiseco - 86.5mm / 8:5:1 / Piston 351g / Pin (.157" Wall) 112g / Rings 21g / Clips 2g / Total Weight = 486g

    JE - 86.5mm / 8:5:1 / Piston 330g / Pin (.?" Wall) 97g / Rings 20-25g / Clips 1-2g / Total Weight = ~ 451g

    Manley - 86.5mm / 8:5:1 / Piston 355g / Pin (.150" Wall) 106g / Rings 20-25g / Clips 2g / Total Weight = ~ 485g

    Probe - 86.5mm / 8:5:1 / Piston 335g / Pin (.126" Wall) 65g / Rings 20-25g / Clips 2g / Total Weight = ~ 425g

    Arias - 86.5mm / 8:9:1 / Piston 355g / Pin / Rings / Clips / Total Weight

    Toda - 86mm / 8:6:1 / Piston / Pin / Rings / Clips / Total Weight

    HKS - 87mm / Comp ? / Piston 344g / Pin (.?" Wall) 110g / Rings 20-25g / Clips 1-2g / Total Weight = ~ 478g

    CP - 86.5mm / 8:5:1 / Piston 322g / Pin / Rings / Clips / Total Weight

    Crower - 86.5mm / 8:5:1 / Piston 338g / Pin / Rings / Clips / Total Weight

    Titan Street - 86.5mm / Comp ? / Piston 364g / Pin / Rings / Clips / Total Weight

    Titan Ultimate - 86.5mm / Comp ? / Piston / Pin / Rings / Clips / Total Weight

    Titan Billet - 86.5mm / Comp ? / Piston / Pin / Rings / Clips / Total Weight

    Greddy / Grex - 86.5mm / Comp ? / Piston / Pin / Rings / Clips / Total Weight

    Tomei - 86.5mm / Comp ? / Piston / Pin / Rings / Clips / Total Weight

    JUN C Series (Cosworth) - 87mm / ? / Piston 342g / Pin (.?" Wall) 99g / Rings 20-25g / Clips 1-2g / Total Weight = ~ 465g

    Wossner - 86.5mm / Comp ? / Piston 303g / Pin (.?" Wall) 98g / Rings 20-25g / Clips 1-2g / Total Weight = ~ 425g

    Rods

STOCK = 761g with OEM Bolts

    Carillo H Beam HD = 606g with 3/8" Carr / 601g with 3/8" WMC

Eagle ESP = 590g with 3/8" ARP2000 / * Eagle told me L19 is NOT an option on the Supra, only on domestics.

    Crower I Beam = 552g with ?

    Crower Titanium = 392g with ? bolts

    HKS = 600g with ? bolts

    Pauter = 680g with 3/8" ARP2000

    Pauter Titanium = ? with 3/8" ARP2000

    Venolia

    Oliver

    Greddy

    Tomei H-Beam = 604g with ARP L19 bolts

    GRP

    SCAT

If anyone can add anything, even for the rods that I havent started yet, PLEASE help me fill in the blanks. this would help out many people from searching all over the place for the answers. Thanks in advance!

Can anyone answer me this question. Are wrist pins interchangeable between manufacturers? For example, could I use a JE wrist pin on a Wiseco piston, as long as the specs are the same as far as width, wall thickness, diameter, etc...? Thanks!

    No probs dude.

Would be a good idea if you get a mod to maybe make this a sticky.

This sorta info is very useful to alot of people when it comes to planning a build

Oh, and by the way, if anyone happens to have these actual pieces sitting at home waiting to install them, and happen to have a gram scale nearby, PLEASE make sure we got the numbers right and/or post what you come up with so that I can add to the list. Thanks in advance!

I will definitely check on that possibility once it is more complete. I agree that it is always nice to have lots of info in one organized place.

The Tomei H-Beam rods I have are 604g with bolts (come with ARP L19 bolts). Never weighed the pistons or pins myself, sorry.

just a qiick thought. Ive read that the vvti rods are smaller than the non vvti rods. Is there any weight difference?? If so what is it??

further research indicates they are the same

No. I do not know for certain on all manufacturers, but I do know that CP and JE are different lengths. Different pin boss designs will dictate pin length. There is a lot to look at in piston design.

Only VVT-i 2JZ-GE rods are smaller.

All 2JZ-GTE (non and VVT-i) and the 2JZ-GE non-VVT-i have the larger rods.

surely they can take 300 rwhp. Small = lighter .... presumably

    Just thinking out loud

Sorry for the lack of updates. Been very busy with my new build and other stuff. Regardless, none of the other manufacturer's got back to me with any info . I updated the K1 rods and Mahle pistons with the actual data from weighing mine. Pistons came in 21g heavier since they were quoting me for their 4032 version and not the 2618 version that I bought. But they are still lighter than others in the list when assuming the same pin thickness and everything else for total weight. I really wish someone with a new CP setup would weigh theirs since they are the most popular. Also, my K1 Rods came in 3g lighter than they were supposed to. Lastly, I added the Tomei H Beams that someone posted above. Thanks for the Tomei info!
