Owned and raced since Feb 1998.
I have my doubts the original owner changed out the diff since my neighbor bought it near mint with 17,000 miles. My neighbor did open up the diff and found a torsen in it. Of course, still possible the original owner changed it out.

World's First Naturally Aspirated MKIV on E85:
Climbing into the Supra was an event in itself. The dashboard surrounded the driver, the seats hugged you in position and your hand fell naturally to the gear shift. Looking down the long bonnet before glancing in the rear-view mirror to be confronted by the outrageous rear wing ensured the driver was under no illusions about the Supra’s intentions. This car was made to look good and be driven very, very fast.

Excellent post and thread here for the members here, simply awesome!!
Informative and educational to say the least!!
My two cents of aftermarket performance diff installed......CUSCO one is the way to go IMHO......have it in my Supra and Evo.....the only bad thing with them is the price tag that it comes with.....
were is the code stamp on the differential???
Hoping to get some help here. Does anyone know if the JZA70, and the JZX90 8" (10 bolt) actual differential unit will fit into a GS400 rear diff pumpkin made for the 8" (10 bolt) differential unit?
Or maybe will it fit in my stock 95 Supra n/a 5spd rear end?
It is a LSD Small ring compatible 10 bolt differential.
The LSD diff I have found (from Japan) Came in Market Date range Model Frames/Options Found in diagram

I will go ahead and assume that this is probably correct, however I am kind of being led to believe that these were the same as in the Soarer's also?
Grrr.. I just want to find a damn LSD that will work!!!
I ran a cross reference on the PN, and it didn't match the Jzz30 soarer
Ok, Here is what we need (For Automatic LSD rear end)

I have a JDM n/a 5-speed SZ Supra with JDM 2JZ-GTE V160 6-speed swap. Rear end and differential were untouched.
So can I just get a lexux 3.26 geared differential and bolt it up and that's it? so I need limited slip differential (LSD)? I am not fully understanding this.
If you want LSD,however, you would need to order a TRD unit for the 8" 10 bolt carrier housing. Then pull out the 3.26 ring gear and diff in the GS400 and swap that ring gear over to your TRD LSD.

i checked my 95 n/a 5speed and it has the A02A diff coed. so i did get the 4.2 with mine and it did have an open diff in it also. mine was made in 12/04

so a good opportunity for me has come up here.
a buddy of mine picked up some wrecked JDM supra from Florida. Its a JDM series 2 Supra (1996.7). It has the 3.77 diff with torrsen LSD. Its a non-turbo with V161 6-speed tranny.
he's building this as a drift car for his shop, and I talked with him, and he's willing to trade his differential for my stock NA 5-speed one as long as I cover the shipping costs.
Do you guys see any problems with swapping these two between both cars? I just want to make sure mine works fine on his, and his works fine on mine. I wanna do it!
There should not be any issues with using each other diffs, as they will be externally identical and will bolt up just fine.
Will 41301-RA010 (TRD LSD for Toyota Altezza) fit in NA Auto rear end ?
Will it need to change the gear ring? Or what mods will it need ?
