Is the second version worth the ~$100-$150 price difference of the first version? Thanks.

The SAFCII is worth the extra price. More adjustment, and more user friendly. Still easy to screw up.

I kow the differences b/t the two, but I wasn't sure if it was worth that much money. I'm a newb when it comes to fuel tuning. :sadwavey:

I would get the AFC II because it allows for two fuel maps.
so you can do a "pump" and a "race" fuel setting? thats pretty cool!

i was wondering this the other day, thanx for making this thread :bigthumb:

I actually prefer the SAFC1 better, and so does a couple of my buddies. Besides on the point that we save money on it, we think overall it is simpler with the arrows.

I think the version 2 has like a couple of more adjustment points, and has 2 maps for pump and race gas. But if you are on pump gas all the time, you don't really need that 2nd map.

Don't want to rain on your parade here!
SAFC 2 is a lot more compliated but also more complete. More breakpoints, two files to store, knock sensor read out. yada yada yada. :blah:

Didn't I already mention it has 2 maps and more tuning points? Knock sensor is not necissary (sp). If you are going feature for feature of course the 2nd gen is better, that's why it's the 2nd gen. No one ever makes an updated version of a product and make it worse.

But I'd rather keep the 100-150 in my pocket.

That is my dilemma, do i want to spend the extra 150 for the two maps, etc. i might run race fuel 3 times a yr. at most. Keep the thoughts ocming though guys. I'm still torn b/t the two. A lot of people say the avcr is hard to learn, but i dont have a problem tuning that so im not worried about the "complicated" aspect of either.

The 2 maps is good for is you use it frequently. If you use it like 2-3 times a year, just write the settings on a piece of paper. Then just take 10 minutes and program the settings. Then just take another 10 minutes to program it back.

The SAFC2 is not that much more if you buy it used. You can find a SAFC for like 125-150 and a SAFC for like 160-220 (depending on if it's blue or black). Blue costs less.
