      No. You can totally abandon the dash tweeters and put a full-range speaker in the door. You'll probably want to run you own speaker wires to the door. In the stock system, the amp was the crossover (had it's own output wires for the tweeters).

      Not at all important. Not even a consideration really. For example, my head unit is Sony, amp is JL Audio, and speakers are Infinity. JL Audio doesn't make head units; neither does Infinity.

      Thanks for the tip. I am not doing the installation so I will be sure to mention this.

      I appreciate the link... Ordered!

      Now it is time to figure out which head unit and speakers, and whether to get an amp or not. I am leaning towards the Sony's. Hard to choose without hearing them. I will have to go somewhere to hear.

      By the way... I realize I probably posted this in the wrong section of the forum (should have been I.C.E. and Lighting section). Is there a way to move it?
