Thank you! It sounds awesome! A 6-1/2" Mid Bass so close to ear level is something new for me and has taken some time to find the right eq settings.

You are welcome Gilbert.... I don't have anymore photos of the tweeter work, mostly because you cannot see the tweeter location. I will warn you, it is a PITA and this is not the first time I have done this! There are members here that have done the tweeter installation from the top. You...

Thanks Benzo... The JL amp is pretty awesome, and provides plenty of power for my needs, especially when you see how small they are. Please keep in mind that I have been listening to the factory speakers/amp for 8 yrs and was somewhat okay with that. I am not sure how it would run a larger or...

Flightz, My Pioneer does have two wires, a blue/white for remote turn on and a blue for antenna... Originally I connected the blue (antenna) wire to the 15 pin (R6) harness that connects to the factory radio .. The antenna did not work properly, it would go up with radio, but never retract...

Flightz knows his shit so I wouldn't question him, I can only speak from my experiences.. Keep in mind that my Pioneer is a few years old, my car is a 98, and I no longer use the factory amp so there could be some differences..Yes, my Pioneer AVIC D3 has two wires. Thank you Li.... I gave a lot of thought to the carpet/sub, but did not want to modify the stock hatch carpet since it is not available anymore. I ordered a hatch carpet for a 97-98 hardtop thinking it would not have the cutout, but it had an access door at the sub location and would not work...

    Mobile Electronics (I.C.E.) and Lighting
There is no question that it can be done, my antenna works perfectly. It did not always work right though. As you describe, originally the antenna would only go up when radio was selected, but would never retract until powered off. I believe there are some differences between the model years...

    Mobile Electronics (I.C.E.) and Lighting
I mounted the GPS antenna under the dash on duct just behind the clock location. Works great. My pioneer originally did not control the antenna properly when connected to the factory 21 pin (or so) harness. It would only go up when radio was selected, but would not retract until the unit was...

Thanks guys for the kind words! The magic box itself is light, but the three speakers are heavy. Complete, it is much heavier that stock so there would be no weight savings.. The fit of the magic box is impressive.

Reinstalled the battery and tested the system. Wow it sounded great, but there was a problem with the sub woofer, lots of enclosure buzz. I took it apart. There was a crack all the way across the front of the enclosure.. I think it was dropped hard during shipping, there was loose pieces...
