At the sounddomain forum there is a guy claiming to have 1015+ hp 1994 Supra TT. Using NOS he claims a best 9.76 1/4 mile. He acts like this is his daily driver as well. I don't know much about imports so i came here. Is this really possible or is he a bunch of bs? here is a link to the thread.

sounds a lot like this suprastore.com supra

Maybe I'm missing something. But why is that automatically BS? We all know that SW laid down well in excess of 850 RWHP (which is probably around 1000 HP at the crank). And we also know that he's run several 9 second passes at over 150 MPH. And we also know that he drove his daughter to school in that car a few hours before he took it to the track and ran 9.89 @ 151.
He also uses a small shot of NOS. It sounds like it could be his car, although he's not one to brag.

I imagine there are some other 9 second, daily driven Supras out there. Marko has one in Chicago, and there are several others who won't identify themselves for fear of losing all of their street racing revenues. Mark Cooper runs 10.20's on drag radials without NOS and drives his car everyday. Put 120 shot direct port on his car and a set of slicks, and poof.....9 second, daily driven Supra.

Don't be so quick to dismiss a 1000 HP (at the crank) 9 second Supra. Maybe the guy on that particular forum is lying, but that's not to say that there aren't cars that fit that description.

What the hell is your problem? Did you see anything incorrect in that post that you just replied to? Didn't think so.

Shut your pie hole.
It's definitely possible, that is why supras are so great, fast, good looking and daily drivers
Possible?

Maybe if you're measuring at the crank. A couple of guys here are putting down enough power that at the crank they just might be making over 1K (and at least one that IS) but this guy?!

Umm, no way. T66s are for small 4cyls?! Oh, and he's running two turbos - some HKS turbo I didn't recognize (someone look it up) that he claims no one else has? I seem to recall Suprastore had a set of one off (in the States) HKS twins but I'd bet the numbers don't match. $5 says he picked up a copy of Sport Compact, got a woody, and like a few twits who post here occasionally, decided to yank some chains. Gee, it worked too didn't it?

Lol, reading that guy's comments is like watching F&F to pick out the bloopers. 850CFM injectors? um 850CC maybe. The T66 thing. "Special" Carillo rods  Lowering the compression to stock levels (lol). I got lot's to learn yet - what all did I miss? We could start a contest to find the errors - too bad they closed the thread :(

Hrm, and to the VW guy who claimed you can't idle with 850CFM injectors (lol) because there's no computer that can do it (cough). That's not true obviously. Besides, it's not the computer that would probably be having the problem if there was an idle issue - it would be the hysteresis in the injector causing it to dribble due to it not opening properly. So far as I know though Supras have no issue with 850CC injectors.

The guy says he is running the hks3037's but saupra store says they have the only set for sale. never know though.

what i don't get is whats going through those people's minds.. why would they make up something that fantastic?? does it make themselves feel better to try to trick other ppl into thinking you've got some car you realy don't???

i dont get it.. some poeple are just full of lies and even lie to themselves.
G
Well, according to suprastore.com, as mentioned, the turbos are custom, and the only set in america, AND for sale at this very moment. Supras are more than capable of that kind of power, but this guy is full of shit if you ask me. He is just reading straight off of suprastore.

He dynoed a best of 804 rwhp. Undoubtedly, he has made around 850 rwhp considering track runs, but it has not been directly measured on a chassis dyno.

sounds like tozer's rig. atleast the HP numbers and 1/4 mile time.
Actually anyone can order a set of 3037s and put them on the HKS twin header setup... and I believe that's exactly what Paisley's setup was, and he was supposedly even running that on the stock block and head with HKS cams back when his Supra was all white and getting really fast.
The guy may be full of shit or just doesn't know any better, as some of his post clearly shows... but it's entirely possible he got a pyle of money together and came across this Supra someone talked him into buying from some performance shop. There's a few well-known places that have already done the hard work on putting the high HP combo together.
The one closest to his setup at Suprastore is running 2835s, so if some shop put one together a setup with plenty of fuel and 3037s then maybe they got close to those hp figures too. Who knows how long the car may last, but it's really not that unrealistic.
Shit I could put one together myself if I had the funding! ;)

I believe the guy got his info from UPFDs Supra when it was running back then. They also ran the 3037S HKS Twins and if I remember right listed power at 1015hp.(They had this kit for sale awhile back aswell). The SP Eng. 2JZ RX7 also runs the 3037S twins. Never actually heard anyone running this kit on the street though.
