ok, we did this swap about a year ago and right from the get go it had a check engine light. we didn't really have time to fix it b/c we've been so busy with other projects. We now have made time for it but we've tried almost everything besides replacing the ecu. It runs like a top at idle and even boosts great until it gets to 3500 and then it just cuts out. It has a code 13 which is no NE signal to the ecu from the crank position sensor. I have a parts 1j so i swapped sensors, nothing. We tested for continuity from the sensor to the ecu, both wires were tested good. finally i took it in to the Toyota dealership where i work and hooked up an oscilloscope and backprobed the ecu. The ecu is getting a signal but it kinda looks weak. could a screw up in the shielding cause the signal to get weaker? Thanks, Stuart

I know that screwed up shielding with my networking at O'hare airport with my dad would make a signal go bad, the oscilloscope even said so.
