Well... I was able to put in the motor in the car this past weekend. Was quite pleased with it, went relativly well.

Have to put one more bolt on the transmission and put in the new slave cylinder for the clutch. Then I think the drivetrain part will be done! Yay ;)

I'm putting this 1J in an '87 chassis using the C&N Brackets.

Anyways, on to the question part. My motor is sitting on the power steering rack mounting brakect (on the drivers side, just below the AC) on the crossmember. Did anyone else experience this? I'll probably end up using a 1/4" spacer, but wanted to see if anyone else out there had this problem and what the solution was.

if you check ricks site he added spacers on his car.its funny his is a 92 and he needed the clearance.my car is a 92 and i didn't need clearance.so i don't think its the brackets,who knows.

Thanks Dean. I was trying for the life of me to remember where I saw the spacers before. I didn't realize that it was Rick because he had the 92, and most don't need it :)

I'll email Rick and see what size spacer he used.
