I just received my front clip and in the process of taking it apart I found oil in the intake pipes and some in the intercooler piping coming from the turbos. Does this mean the turbo seals were bad on the engine before they chopped it up? Is there another explanation for this? I have attached a pic. I would hate to finish the swap only to find out that the seals are bad and now have to remove the turbos and try find some more. Is there anything I can do before the engine goes in? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes the seal on one or both are out, I had the same issue with mine. You will want to fix this issue when the motor is out of the car as it is very had to pull the turbos with the motor in the car. You can have the turbos rebuilt, try to find replacements, or just go with a single. I went with the single as I can get more HP and it was cheaper to do so.

Damn, I was hoping that wasn't the case. Oh well time to check out my options. I really want the twins through. I feel like I should at least experience them before I go single.

Not sure if any companies around you are any better, but I was quoted approx. $645 per turbo to rebuild.

Has anybody actually successfully had their turbos rebuilt here in the US? I find people who knows somebody that knows somebody. Majestic Turbo doesn't do it but then I call turbochargers.com and they say they do them all the time. I have a feeling that turbochargers.com probably thought I was talking about a different turbo or are just BS'ing to get a sale. I cant find anybody that has used them for the Ct12a.

Just about every motor I've ever installed had some kind of oil in the inlet piping. A lot of that can just be blowby that's been recirculated through the intake. I honestly wouldn't do anything with them, I'd install the motor and see what they do. If they smoke, just buy another pair or go single. A smoking set of twins isn't the end of the world, and it didn't take me more than an hour and a half to pull mine with the motor in the car when I went single. That motor probably has over 100k miles, so take any oil with a grain of salt since that's 100k miles' worth of buildup.

Thanks for the info, makes me feel better. I think I'll just put it in with the turbos. I guess we will see once I get it running.

Is this a gen1 or gen2? Gen1's always have excessive oil in the turbo pipes because of the way the pcv system is setup thats why they changed it. You can identify which generation it is by looking at where the tube from the left valve cover connects to the turbo intake pipes; If its on the "T" then its a first gen and there is probably nothing to worry about. The Gen2 connects to the front turbo intake pipe, if you have this its still not a big deal. Just run them.
