I have read that it is better to get a 2nd generation 1jz for a swap. How will I be able to tell the difference in a 1st and 2nd gen motor? What were the different years the first and second gen came in the Japanese Supras? I had seen where someone had posted pics of the differences in the motor but the pics would not open. Also I am planning on doing the swap in my 87t. I know I need the 89+ crossmember but will us 89+ motor mounts or the mounts that come with a front clip work. If anyone has a 89+ crossmember or front clip for sale let me know, I am going to post a WTB in the for sale\wanted section.

Is this something nobody has heard about? It was a recall in Japan, something about where the blow by gases were being routed on the first gen was causing it to blow turbos.

1st gen here also, No issues. It's another urban legend just like using the Reg Reamer lapping tool, that will lap the block and will give your 7M no more HG problems. :)
