Hey Guys,

My 2jzgte got a 2.0mm back in 2003 when it was thought to be better for boost.

My car makes 715hp(pump + meth 25psi) and 500tq from 4500rpm to 8500rpm. I also have a vielside intake with T78(upgraded to 69mm billet).

My shop told me that the 2mm was actually bad for boosting as it changed the quench area of the combustion chamber and I'm looking to put a stock one back in. It should allow the engine to make more power and torque and take more timing according to them.

My tuner said my car really wants the meth to allow timing.

I cannot find info about this in the search function.

Any advice is appreciated

P.S. I trust my tuner and have worked with him for 14 years.

Cheers

David

Has your head been milled or the block decked? If so, do you know how much material was removed?

Thanks Justis,

And I do not believe anything done to head or block as it is low mileage with no issues, just had port and polish and valve job done 13 years ago(I didn't own the car then, Joe Galante did)

If this is the case, OEM or HKS "Stopper", both at 1.2mm, will return you to factory static compression. You should be good to go.
