And to fight it is the 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8. 415 hp. 0-60mph faster than Porsche Cayenne (their claim), but done on all-motor and much lower $$$; maybe in same range as MB ML350. 20" *FORGED* rims all around. Brembo 4-piston calipers on ALL FOUR WHEELS. Dynamic adaptive AWD with heavy-duty design.

I like that SS. The Jeep is nice too if you can get over the fact that it looks like shit.

Whats the retail gonna be on both of those?
1.) New heavy-duty 4L70-E 4-speed automatic (should be 5-speed like the upcoing SRT-8 6.1L Grand Cherokee, but it's got nearly twice the displacement of 3.3L-3.5L 6-cyl. SUVs in the same price class).
2.) Torsen center diff with variable F/R biasing
3.) 1" / 1.8" lower ride height in F/R
4.) 12.8" rotors and a brake system that ran 6 hours fade-free around Germany's Nuburgring race track according to GM's John Heinracy
5.) Standard polished 20" rims
6.) 9.5" rear
7.) C6 brake linings
8.) 395hp all-aluminum LS2 from C6

Claimed performance: 1/4 mile of 13.9-14.0; 0-60mph in mid-5s

and starting at $33,600 for RWD LS model to loaded $39,200 LT AWD

$33,600 is cheap (~MSRP of fully loaded Toyota Highlander Limited and less than some heavily optioned Muranos) considering it's before any future incentives and dealer discounts that inevitably make its way into GM cars.

This and the new 0-60mph of 6-second Avalon would make a neat family combo for under $70k combined.
