Well as many of you know my car burnt last week. I just finished with insurance today. They paid me out

$19,900

for my loss.

I did not have any special coverage just standard insurance. I did have 28g in receipts that they took in consideration. State Farm was the carrier by the way.

I did by the car back, I had to pay 4g's though. the scrap yard saw the list of mods and new there was some value there. I took out the a few parts yesterday and they are really not that bad. They will take some clean up, but functionally they are fine. Some new powdercoating and most of my harware (pipes, valve covers etc) should be fine. The header is ceramic coated and seems to wipe clean. the wastegate is located pretty low and does not even have any smoke damage. So, either parting out or transplanting parts I should be in pretty good shape.

Not sure what my plan is, a MKIV is looking really tempting right now, or i could pick up a good MKIII and part it over. Tough call....

Wow, glad that you're able to get that much for the insurance company, seeing the pictures of the damage on your car just truly made me cry   but I hopefully you'll build up another mk3 soon though.

Wow, Chris, I saw a picture of your car the other day in the wheel thread and thought "wow, it looks burnt, unless that's primered black" How ironic is that, aren't you a Fireman, WTF.

Glad to see you recovered from it. I would say MKIII, only because you have the parts, and well. if you think $28K is alot to sink into a modded car, with a MKIV, you'll be closer to $40K.

Yeah, lets not discuss the fireman part of my life....

Got a big desicion to make. My wife wants a MKIV, but I can't seem to find an 6 sp in a range I want to pay. Not to start a flame war, but when I can buy a brand new 350z 6sp for 25g with options, or a 10yr old Supra for the same, it makes my choice that much tougher.

If anybody has a 6sp twin they want to let go for less than 20k let me know, consider it gone. I am no opposed to an automatic, but would preffer a 6, (and yes I know the auto is faster out of the hole.)
