I have had a 1986 Conquest since I was in High School. I have been through 3 of the 2.6 four cylinders and have always had trouble with them. The last time I replaced the motor, a guy sold me a bad one and that was the last straw. I lost interest in the car and let it sit for a few years. The car is gorgeous and has a very nice paint job and nice interior. I have always just been plauged with the bad motors. Recently I visited the Starquestclub.com website and seen a few guys swapping the 2jz into the quests. I lurked around for a month or so watching all the progress they were making. Well this past December I pulled the trigger and bought a 2jz motor and am going to attempt to do my own swap. I have the motor and just now getting some money together to start applying some nice performance parts. Problem is I'm still a novice on this 2jz. So I'm here to learn all I can from you guys and hope I can make some new freinds along the way. I've always wanted a Supra and I have always loved the Conquest. This mates the 2 and I'm pumped about getting this thing running.

I have pulled the stock twin turbos off the motor. To my surprise they were filled with oil on the compression side, not sure why...???

I'm looking to make around 500hp. Im not looking to make killer power. I just want my car to be reliable and with enough power to enjoy it. I've been hunting a single turbo set up. I dont need anything to expensive. Just a nice manifold with turbo and all the lines to go with it. You guys have any suggestions???

Thanks for any help guys. I hope I'm accepted here...lol

I've seen a couple of those Conquest swaps and they seem like a good combo.

How about a Powerhouse Racing *Street* Turbo kit? They put together quality parts in their kits and everything fits perfectly. I had a cast manifold with that turbo on it and it was very responsive. On 93 pump at 17psi it did 470whp and at high boost ~28psi on racegas it was about 600whp. See here: http://powerhouseracing.com/Templates/frmtemplateM7.asp?SubFolderID=25&SearchYN=N If that's over your budget you can look in the 4sale section here for good used parts and put together a nice setup.

I did run across this set up earlier tonight before I joined the forum. It looks really nice and has everything there. It's just crazy to me that all these kits are more money than what I bought the motor for..lol. I'm looking for good quality and realize I'll have to spend the money to get that. Thanks for posting the link man.
I'm not in a real big rush to get that right now. I still have to fab up some mounts and have someone make me a driveshaft. So I got time to spare. Just looking for some good advice from the guys that know the most about these motors....
Thanks again..
