Hey everyone, my clutch is starting to slip and with the new precision 6265 turbo that has to be put in I really don't trust it any more so the time has come to buy a new clutch. I like to do things rite the first time around and now that this build is getting serious I'm thinking of taking the *huge pocket plunge* to buy a Carbon Carbon. I would like to get some feedback from people who have used different brands of C/C clutches and recommendations. I'm really only looking for a few things, low chatter/noises, able to hold 700tq, rebuild-able, and durability. This clutch is going to see a lot of drifting and possibly some launches so I need it to last... Thanks everyone for the help.

before you start getting a clutch to handle gobbs of torque and hp , better make sure you do a race build on the critical parts on the r154 or else no launching and power shifting 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd or good bye to your 1st and 2nd gear shifter fork and thrust washer.... i dont launch mind but occaisonally shift hard from 2nd to 3 rd and im already on my 2nd box at around 600 rwhp ..im still trying to decide if i should do a full rebuild on mine with all the marlin crawler stuff and all new syncro or just go 6 speed before i start thinking about a highend clutch and go up closer to 700rwhp

If you do decide to stick with the R154, there is no competition with the RPS double strapless. It will hold 800rwtq with a smile, and pedal pressure is only about 25% more than OEM. It's truly worth the investment in my opinion. Another option is the spec twin disk, I believe the "p" one is rated at 1100tq, but alot of people have had issues with it. But keep in mind, if you go 6spd, there will be a way bigger selection of high torque clutches. Hell, there are even single disk clutches that will hold your torque for the V160.

Thanks for the replies. Spec clutches are iffy, I've heard different things about them but mostly negative things so I really don't care for that. RPS I've heard nothing but good stuff about the C/C. ACT and OS Giken were other options for the C/C but I've heard that they chatter a LOT and I don't really want that since it will be street driven occasionally.. Does anyone know where I can buy a RPS for a decent price?

I would strongly consider selling the R154 setup to get a V160 at this point. Between the upgraded R154 parts you'll need to reliably use that power, and the cost of the RPS strapless carbon carbon, you could buy the V160 and a single disc clutch for it that WILL hold the power. You'll be out a little more overall once you factor in the cost of the V160-friendly differential (not sure how numerically low you can find a diff for your S13, but look for something in the 3.00:1 to 3.30:1 range) but in the end the 6-spd is *completely* worth the effort.

Sorry for the late reply to everyone who was helping me. Look my R154 is as built and bullet proof as it gets, crawler thrust upgrades and all. I'm not worried about my tranny.. If anything I'm more worried about my rear end not holding the power IE sub frame shit... but anyways, I'm not *daily* pushing 700's, that would be on a E85 tune. I'll be pushing 500-600's daily and my R154 can definitely handle that amount of power.

Conclusion: Can someone please send me a link or point me in the right direction (plz dont post a smiley pointing his finger...) to where I can get a well prices RPS C/C strapless from people who have good customer service. Thanks for everyones help, I really appreciate it, this is the last part of my build and I'll be sure to post a thread with drift videos, launches if I do any and definitely dyno vids and sheets.
