Hi everyone,
I’ve been reading supra forums for months and months now. Love this page, and this is my first post.
I’m about to port my vvti head and I have some questions pertaining to the valve guides.
So, assuming my guides are within spec (it’s a low mile motor), what are your professional opinions on grinding the valve guides flush with the port walls?
I know it’s a common practice in other worlds(LS engines), but havent really found anything about it here.
My only minor concern is the reduced ability to pull heat from the valves through the guides. Which worst case I could flush grind the intake side and teardrop the exhaust side.
The engine will he used in a pump gas street car that occasionally sees e85 for the weekend. A few details on the engine include; stock valves, gsc s1 cams, bw s300sxe 66mm, big ffim Etc.

Thoughts? Ideas? Opinions?

Thank you kindly,
-Sean

I would contact Headgames or Xtreme Cylinder heads before doing so. They should be able to answer your questions.
