whats your plans on connecting a 2.5" inlet pipe to a 3" exhaust pipe?

i guess i should have been more clear on this. i have a muffler and the inlet pipe is 2.5" i wanted to go full 3" but couldnt find a muffler that didnt cost an arm and a leg. now i still want to go full 3" with this muffler on there. my question is, if i did this, would there be any performance issues or sound issues (as air from a 3" pipe is going into a 2.5" muffler)?

Look on Ebay. There are plenty of 3 inch mufflers cheap. I got an N1 knockoff for $40 and I was gonna use it, but I got a hell of a deal on my HKS Carbon/Ti. The muffler was actually pretty good quality, nice welds, full stainless, even came with a silencer. The only diff between it and the "real" N1 was the lack of "Apex-i" logo.
