I have been owning this supra since 2007 starting from a AT NA to 5MT TT. I was thinking about to have the car "Completed" by fitting the 6MT tranny as the 6MT TT was what I wanted from the very beginning but couldn't afford it

I have started to looking for parts for this project since 2013 and finally have got it up running now

As the engine is still running in and there are some follow up tasks to complete. ECU mapping, tidy up the wires, install the injectors, electric fan, ATI Crank Pulley...etc

Not sure if a surge tank and upgrade fuel system is needed, suggestion and advise are welcome []

In my personal experience the only bad thing about my china turbo is that it spools slower. 20k + miles of 18 psi and no problems. Not to mention that people don't seem to get that many miles out of a pte turbo and they're 1500 bucks. I say run the eBay turbo and if it takes a shit no big loss

Unless it takes a dump and sends metal through your motor...yes possible with any turbo alot higher chance with the china turbo. PTE is a china turbo just with alot more R&D lol.

The metal through the motor is a risk but like usually china turbos explode in a pretty spectacular fashion. I feel like the risk of metal going through the engine is pretty low tbh. Cummins guys explode turbos all the time and it seems uncommon for them to suck shit into the motor. I feel like the intercooler does a pretty good job of catching most shit along with the sound of it exploding would make you turn the engine off hopefully haha
