Check this out, I didn't know that Subaru offered a "beefed up" version of the STI. I really like the red, however the stripes aren't doing it for me.

PERFORMANCE
Available in two Horsepower ratings for 2005..
1-Street Spec. Approximately 365 Engine Horsepower - C.A.R.B. Approved and Smog Legal.
2-Track Spec. Approximately 425 Engine Horsepower Option - OFF ROAD use only version.

So the one on Ebay you showed us...is the street illegal version? Can't be smogged I guess.

60 grand huh...

All I know is if I had 60 grand laying around I'd NOT think of a STi.

i saw one at Subaru of Dallas and i wasn't impressed. and that's a lot of money for a car that was ugly to begin with but now has a racing stripe and a bright red paint job to make it stick out like a fat chick at a playboy photo shoot.

there is a big write up on this car in the current Speed Magazine, they really get into detail about everything that was done on it

You could have so much more of an STi for 60 large than that...double the price for a few upgrades in performance? Mehh...

Anyone else here love the looks of a nicely prepped (Or even stock trim) 98 RS over both WRX models as of late?

I just saw an RS the other night (2 actually, one rice, one mostly stock) and those lines are more refreshing than the bubbly newer one and huge headlighted newest model... :dunno:

Ok lets put this into perspective: You have $60,000 and no car :D

Would you rather let some company make you an STI or would you rather buy a Supra TT and make it how you want it? With $30,000 and a TT life can change in a blink of an eye :D.

Apples and Oranges, for 60k you could make a lot of things faster than a MKIV with 27k into it (muscle car for example), the reason you would get the WRX would be the same reason you would get a callaway/Lingenfelter vette or even the Z-tune Skyline.
