ok so i have an 86.5 supra with cold air intake and 2.5 inch exhaust from header back no cats no resonators just a fart can its the way i bought it and it doenst sound like any supra i have ever herd beofre it just sounds like some shitty v6 car any ideas what may be the problem?????

exhaust piping is to small go 3inch or bigger

i agree but i have herd stock supras with just a different muffler sound like a supra should and me and a buddie cut his stock muffler off and his car is all stock and just with the muffler missing it sounds like a totaly different car than mine i dont understand im at a mental loss on why my car sounds the way it does and theres nothing wrong with my car she runs and drives like a champ

Your exhaust is going to sound like that, with that setup, if you want a more supra sound, I suggest you go with 2 1/4" or 2.5 inch with a resonator or a glass back to compensate the cats muffling and a high flow muffler at the end, It'll give your car a more sporty profile

i have a n1 style muffler on it sounded amazing on my last car and would a cherry bomb glass pack do the job or should i go with something a little better?????

86.5, is your car NA? If yes, put a stock exhaust on and stop embarrassing yourself. If no, buy a 3in exhaust from a reputable manufacturer.

I had my exhaust made at some ghetto shop for 100$ and it came out pretty good imo, just a little low in the middle

ok my exhaust has a lot of bends in it it is not striaght like urs where the diff is mine has an s pipe to go around the rear control arms idk who did it but maybe all these bends and no resonators are making my car sound like it does

just cause a car is not turbo doesnt mean ppl dont like to hear the roar of there motors plus turbo 7ms and n/a 7ms dont have that much tone difference the only difference i hear is right before fuel cut

anything above 2.5in without a turbo and you're going to lose power. i really wouldnt go above 2.5 regardless on a GE

Get a full 2.5in exhaust system and you'll be good to go. Cat is easy to bypass if you wanted to. The cats and the resonators and the BRAND makes a difference.

Okay either sale your old setup and get a new, My system was a cat back system and it cost about $150 for everything the muffler and piping from a muffler shop, I only had one muffler, it was 3A racing full flow muffler I got from pepboys lol and it surprisingly came out sounding the way I wanted it.

lol...exhaust is not the only way to change sound fellas....


i would check for exhaust leaks near the 7mge header.........then put on the old intake

im gonna try to put a video up so u guys can hear it and i have checked for leaks.......none that i can find plus its hard to find leaks since i have crower 264/264 stage 2 cams cuz its a very lopey idle
