first off i bought this car for 1000$ with a 7mge(not installed) because he blew the old one its an 87 turbo body ya i know why put a ge in a turbo body i figured id at least use it till it blows since it came with the car. I made two ports for the knock sensors, got the cps, and coilpacks, and i got the gte electronics so it should work. and i have the r154 tranny with an act 6 puck sprung. ive been worknig on this car all winter i put new valves in and 2.0 hks head gasket. i got the motor in and all the wiring hooked up and it wont even crank. any ideas?

Getting juice to the starter/ignition?
ok, iv,e been doin some investigating on that alt. fuse i took my fuse box out and checked each side of the alt fuse for shorts and the black wire has a short. I then pulled out every fuse and traced a short to the dome light fuse. i left the fuse out and tried to crank it. nothing. anyone? i need guidence this is my first supra i used to be a honda guy and i switched to the supra because i always wanted one and i got the oportunity to get one i basically rebiult the engine besides the bottom end and now im having damn electricall issues my worst nightmare!

Clutch safety switch?
ok i figured it out the wire on the starter was bolted to the wrong post switched it around now she fires right up! I feel like a damn fool. but it wasnt my fault the wire to the sylenoid was bolted to the wrong post so i hooked the battery wire up to the wrong side because there was nowhere else to put it. but now i have other issues,the temp gauge pegs on hot when i turn the key on could them temp sensor be bad or would the gauge even move if it was bad?
naw man no bhg i got fresh arps and a new hks 2.0mm h.g. dont try to discourage me with that negative jive.

so is it common for the stock gauges to not work? and i haven't checked the codes yet i'll do that tomorrow, im just glad it runs i'll post all the pics of my build as soon as i figure out how to get pics up on here so you can all see that i put together my first supra completely dismantled and i'd never even seen under the hood of one. thats how you know i had the burning desire to own a supra.

ground wire or maybe your alarm' im almost sure its one of those . just had the same problem.
ok, ive checked my grounds theyre all hooked up. which of the two was your issue? oh yeah, the temp guage was at halfway before i ever hooked a battery up, it rises to the red when i turn the key on before the car has even ran? if it was a ground which one could it be? and how do i disarm the alarm if thats my problem?
