I was wondering if anyone could tell me how rare a 95 alpine silver hardtop turbo is? I am aware that there were only 18 hardtops produced in 95 (hardtop registry), but I was wondering if anyone knew how many were silver because they all appear to be either white or black.

2 according to mkiv.com. 8 in 94 and 0 in 93. Only 10 alpine silver hardtops.

Be forwarned that Curt Aigner told me that none of the numbers we handily reference (either model by number or color by year) were actually released by Toyota as official figures.

Still, there is no denying that alpine silver HT TT's are among the rarest of the rare and 95 HT TT's are among the rarest of the rare. Put them together and you have one hell of a rare/desireable combination! :D

I wish people would stop using them.

They were debunked a while back on the mailing list by a Toyota executive who couldn't get access to real production vs. color numbers.

Is there any way we can get real production numbers nowadays so we can update that mkiv.com datasheet and have a reliable reference?

Curt? Help? :dunno:

No, there isn't. I've asked Curt and he says no way.

so i guess there is no other choice except to
use the data from mkiv.com. Its our only source right now
to know a certain color combo is more rare and more
desireable. So be it.....

No. The correct choice when confronted with bad data is not to use it.

I don't think this is exactly "bad" data, but its more
like an approximate statistic, and thats what we should take
it as, nothing more. It does give us a "sense" of rarity as stated my Kreddy.
