·So its cold in iowa, not as bad as it was last week, but with constant down pouring of cold merciless rain and a constant cloudy sky above, the weather is miserable.
I just spent a few hours in the garage while the rain pounded down on the roof, drowning it out withthe sounds of all sorts of music in my cd collection, ranging from Aerosmith to Insane Clown Posse to Killswitch engage, wrenching away on my new supra I got. Tonight I grinded away the mounting bolt that was broke in my differential, carelessly throwing sparks into the gas tank before I realized what I was doing. Also I installed the brake pedal for my auto to 5 spd conversion and broke a pos strut while I was jacking up the rear end. So I took them out, and was suprised by the simplicity of the whole procedure, taking them both out in less than 20 minutes.
Once I was done and realized there was very little work I could do until I recieved a torque wrench from my friend later on today(for the head install) I decided to sit in the ugly burgundy seat from my old supra that now sits outside.
While staring at my car in the dark garage alit by only the blinding light of a spot light, I Realized I love this car. I feel an amazing level of confidence with this car. I know this car like the back of my hand, granted I need alot of advice time to time, and my automotive skills aren't professional grade, I understand this car. I can do things to this car that I never thought possible 2 years ago when I bought it.
2 years ago I didn't know how to change struts.
hell 2 years ago I could barely understand my haines manual.
and now? I fuck that shit up in 30 minutes or less. Granted, it is easy, but thats just an example. I see my intake manifold, vacuum lines, intake, exhaust, turbo, intercooler, all that shit cluttering the corner of the garage and I don't sweat it for a minute that I can't put it back together.
Me and my supra, Tsabo Tavoc, we fucking belong together.
