i was on ebay looking for a s-afc and saw that there were a
bunch of older ones, with the knobs, and i was wondering
what the diffence was? besided the blue face. i know that
there is more info being shown on the newer version, but
there wasnt anything wrong with that older unit right,
thinking about using that one and saving some cash,,,,
input....

I bought one because I didn't care about the other features, I was only looking for a way to fine tune my Lexus/550 setup. I bought it off ebay, $100.00 shipped, and it does exactly what I wanted it for.

Is the wiring harness for the knob afc and the blue screen afc the same? I have a blue screen one, but Im going to sell it for the older version (need money), will I have to rewire the entire thing agian though?

The 1st gen SAFC actually works pretty decent to help tune in the lexus/550 combo.

It's just like an HKS GCC. A friend used it to dial in the Vf meter and get a nice smooth idle and part throttle.

I bought the old-school 5-knob recently on Ebay for $61 shipped. +/- 30% is good enough for my needs.

yah the old school afc is good. i been running it the past two years... very good for helping to tune away fuel cut off on the lex afm. it helped me to run low 12's ;).

unfortunately i know i'll need more adjustability than +/- 30% so i'm going to go with a S-AFC or S-AFR (HK$) soon.
