I have a BPU+++ with NOS. I called MVP yesterday and talked to Dusty. Well he said that the Apex AFC is a p.o.s on a VPC car because of tuning. Have any of you had any luck with it. I need to know so I can send it back. Ive been told he is the man on this subject but I just wanted to hear what everyone had to add. .......Thanks GRIFF

An AFC or an SFC-R will work great on a VPC car as long as it's installed correctly (*NOT* the way Apexi tells you to install it.)

GCC is most widely recommended because you can't screw up the install, it's plug and play. But if you splice correctly and splice well, an both the AFC and SFC-R provide extra tuneability because of finer RPM maps. The SFC-R also provides 3 fuel maps as opposed to 1 for the others, which is why IMHO it's the best fuel computer out there, and it's what I use (with a VPC). Works great.

If it is installed correctly, it should work just fine. The problem is that most people never get it right, or after many times trying get it to work. Where as the GCC just plugs right into the back of the VPC. Andi is smarter than the avarage bear (supra owner) :p
I am using the VPC+S_AFC combo and it works fine for me. I got 422 wrhp on the stock twins tuning only with the AFC. I will be dynoing soon with the T-78 and the same combination of fuel comtrollers.
Was he a little more specific about what he is saying is bad about this setup. I have the AFC and VPC and it works fine...I have tuned to 485rwhp on stock twins w/o nos. This combination works great for me.

So out of curiosity.. What is the proper way to hook it up?
