Yup, as im seeing it, right now in my life the supra is too much of a hassle, i love it to death, but 6k out the pocket and nothing done is pissing me off, and i cant see putting another 5k into just to turbo it and drive it less then i already do. So iv come to the decison after this summer im going to put it up for sale. Im gonna look into something that is still easliy modified and peppy, but not as expesnsive to deal with.

Thinking along the lines of

Old Lexus IS
GTO
EVO 8
STI
Older Vette
350z
Far off, early NSX
Something newer, and then buy my dream supra once i land my job after college, any suggestions would be awesome, as this is a tough decison in itself

LS1 car would fit the bill (maybe?). 98 f-cars can be picked up for pretty cheap now, FAR less than basically everything you listed. Good luck.
Buy an NSX, I'll still sponsor you.

Or go all out and get a Ferrari 308.

Don't listen to him...
;)
i dont think any of those cars will really leave you better off than you are now. Is yours nto reliable or something?

is300 is basically the same drivetrain, wont be cheap to maintain either.

Gto's are pretty damn expensive to buy.

evo's and sti's are about the same price as a gto, ~30 grand...

older vettes probably wont be as reliable.

350z, again ~30grand

All of the cars you listed are extremely expensive for a college student. If you can afford that, I dont see why you wouldnt just drop the 5 grand into a turbo kit.

its your call.

I also dont recommend f-body's for reliability if you're wanting something ot get you through college. 3rd gear often goes on on them, and my buddy has a camaro SS and he blew out 5th gear which took out 6th and part of his tranny with it. Chalk up ~4k for that repair.

its kind of funny actually....all my friends who have domestics are having trouble with them.
04 Ram 1500 hemi- bad map sensor
buddy's camaro SS- tranny went
buddy's taurus SHO - tranny went
buddy's mustang gt(2002?) - third gear went

my 93 supra has never had a serious problem, and my 20 year old Z has only had a few more problems then their cars. I'd say tough it out with the supra unless something is really wrong with it.

I noticed the distinct lack of FWD cars, props for that. From your list, I'd say an early C5.
I dont know why you have high end cars on your list if you already dont like spending cash on your Supra.
Don't you need permission from your parents first?

I completely agreed with this until I read this

And I laughed my ass off.

Seems pretty on target.

If you don't want to spend 5 grand modifying your Supra, why would you want to buy and mod something else? Sounds like you want the performance, but not the cost.

I do not like Veilside anything though. Good luck selling your Supra if you do decide to sell it.
Parents are actually no problem here, its the fact that i have dumped 6k to fix shit, and not mod it, just want something faster out of the box, and then after college get back into supras by buying a TT a true TT

Matt
if you want cheep speed get a Mustang.

But why would you get a FASTER car with LESS controll, when you alredy crashed your supra? shouldent that be a sign to you that you are not an experinced driver?

Also, what happend to the low milage TT that you had?

What the hell cost $6k to fix? Did you un-Veilside the car and return it to stock? I could see paying $6k for that...

You can't begin to tell me your alternator, starter, etc. etc. went out costing you $6k. If TIRES or OIL or BRAKES are involved in the $6k expenditure, I will laugh my ass off at you. You do realize the next car you will buy uses TIRES, OIL and BRAKES, right? New cars aren't magical out of the box, they still need love and TLC like a woman.

You need to get your head straght. I don't even know where to start. For now, just get yourself a civic.
And i thought you had a excell.

You really agrivate me because u seem to do nothing but spend moms money.
Did you really crash your NA supra?

If thats true then I wouldnt get anything else then man. Either keep the Supra or down scale and wait.
