Welp, just when I thought I was narrowing down my list of problems, I've got a new and annoying one. First off, I'll give you my electrical system rundown...

Optima Red Top Battery
Stock Alternator
280W Amp @ 1 ohm
1 10" Clarion Sub

I included the speaker stuff cuz it seems pertinent, being that it's at 1 ohm, it draws pretty heavy on the alternator...

So here's what's happening. If I'm at any RPM higher than idle (900) my amp goes into surge protection mode, my ABS light and Brakelight Out light and the E-Brake light all come on, and everything is heller bright, i.e. headlights, dash lights, etc, etc. Sound like the alternator is overcharging? My multimeter died on me, so I'm gonna check it out tomorrow w/ a friends, but I figured I'd see if anyone else has experienced anything like this...

yeap. It's just weird, I've never had an alternator do this, had plenty just die, but never an overcharge...
