For the second time in one year the plastic drive cable inside my antenna has broken. Both of these were replacements of the original. I guess i should be periodically lubing the antenna mast with something. But what?

You gotta be carefull when lubing the antenna cause it may just attract more dirt and therefore do just the opposite. Couldn't tell ya what lube to use....just listen to your CD's :)

The only thing braking is the platic so lubing the antenna would not help :).

chupacabra

If you bought the antenna replacements they should come prelubed. You should open the motor and see how much grease you have there or if you still have pieces from the previous antennas. Something inside the antenna motor is what's casuing the problem.

I opened the thing up both times to make sure that no pieces were inside. But it wasnt "packed" with grease. How much grease should be in there?
It has always been a little noisy going up and down.
