I dunno if this is a problem on the 2jz's
but from my DSM days, some guys would run 10 gauge wire from the battery to the pump to give it more jucie, cause the factory line was thin and you could even here the occilations when power was being used for say the hazards lights.
It wasn't a fuel stravation problem just an extra bit of insurance....

If you stickin with the stock pump I would just let it be. There are two wires and an extra ECU dedicated for your fuel pump. One thin wire will power the pump when you are casually driving around and then off the Fuel Pump ECU there is also a second wire that is for WOT applications or times when it time to switch your Fuel pump from a 10v signal to a 12v I believe is what the differences was. I dont know how common it is to have a fuel pump ECU but I know that our cars do so I would just let it be unless your wiring in another fuel pump.
